Chapter 25

AUBREY

"Shouldn't we go back to school?" I asked Drew

"No, you'll be with me until four"

"Oh ok, what should we do?"

"Want to watch a movie?" she offered, "There's nothing in the movie house that I like, how about we watch my DVDs?" she shrugged and drove off to the direction of my home. Drew and I were in our driveway in less than twenty minutes.

"Want something sad?" I asked her as I unlocked the door, "I don't really care" she replied, I rolled my eyes and proceeded to the kitchen to prepare some snacks before running to my room and going back down. I threw the blanket at Drew who was sitting on the sofa and got some sodas and placed the popcorn in a bowl.

"I feel like watching something tear jerking" I placed the snacks on the table, "as what I've said I don't really care" she responded not even feigning interest, "Boring" I teased as I went through my DVDs

"A walk to remember, the notebook or titanic?" I asked only to get a shrug; I swear if she does that again I'm going to cut her ear.

"I think we'll go for Titanic, I haven't seen this in a long time. How about you?" I continued trying to make a decent conversation.

"Yeah, I haven't seen it for seventeen years" she replied sarcastically

"You've never watched titanic before?" I asked in disbelief

"I believe that's what I said just in a sarcastic way" she answered bored

"Where do you live? Under a rock?" I asked placing the DVD on the player.

"That is just so sad" I said sniffing, "Wow, that is one stupid movie" she mumbled, I stared at her in disbelief, "I watched Titanic, how about you? Were we watching the same movie?" I asked her not believing she just called Titanic a stupid movie.

"I think you're being sarcastic because yes, we just watched the same movie and you're crying over some stupid movie"

"Why is it a stupid movie?" I asked in a raised tone

"Jack died, that's what's stupid" I stared at her

"He did it because the raft couldn't carry them both so he stayed in the water because he loves her" I explained

"Aside from there are enough obvious ways for the both of them to be in the raft and survive together, he doesn't love her" I blinked, "he willingly died so Rose could live how is that not love?" I demanded, "He died" she replied shortly, "So you're saying if I were in trouble and I need saving you wouldn't do the same?" I questioned her

"Yes, I wouldn't do the same" she said that in all seriousness and that hurt my feelings. I'm not asking her to die for me but she could've lied you know, I stood up and cleaned the table.

"If you needed saving, I would save you but I would make sure none of us gets hurt. I would stay alive no matter what. If I died saving you then that's beyond stupid because then I'm going to leave you alone, you'd be facing your problems without me and I don't want that. I'm going to make sure both of us survives; let's say I did save you and I died, the probability that you would blame yourself of my death is high, then I would be causing more pain to you. There's no way I'm going to do that, Aubrey, if you were in trouble I will never say I would save you even if it costs my life, but I will save you without risking anyone's life and I will succeed" she finished; I stared at her in disbelief but when I got over my shock I jumped to her and hugged her.

These are the kind of times where I'm thankful of Drew's logic, because she can say something so sweet without having an idea she did, she can be so romantic without trying so hard and the best thing is that I know she means everything she says for Drew Goodwin hates lying.
