Chapter 16

DREW

I opened my eyes to see the most beautiful woman snuggled to me; I haven’t had a peaceful sleep in ages, I could get used to this. I gazed at her and couldn’t help but smile at how serene she looked.

I have to say one of the things I love the most about Aubrey is her hair; I ran my hands through her perfect shiny golden locks; she really does look like a sleeping angel, her long eyelashes, perfectly shaped nose, pink plump succulent lips, creamy vanilla skin; no one can be compared to her beauty. I stared at her alarm clock, 6:03, I should get going. I removed the covers from me and stood up looking for my clothes, I was too tired yesterday I wasn’t even aware where I threw my clothes.

I found my socks, shoes and pants. Tsk, almost complete. I was still looking for my damn shirt when I heard footsteps outside Aubrey’s room. Shit. This can’t be good, we didn’t do anything inappropriate but if I’m a parent and saw my seventeen year-old daughter with a dude looking girl on her room, not to mention we still think she’s a dude, I would sure think of them doing inappropriate things.

I opened the window checking if I could climb down through it, sure enough I can. I ran back to Aubrey, kissed her forehead and whispered ‘see you in a bit’.

I was already several meters away from the Dale’s residence when I remembered my car is still parked on their drive way. I can’t just go in there and take the car. I just hope Aubrey can find a good reason when they ask her what’s with the car.

I called Jace to pick me up.

“Jace, you home yet?”

“No, I’m on my way though”

“Can you drop by Aubrey’s house, not exactly at their house but a few meters away from their drive way” I informed him

“Sure, be there in twenty”

I waited for him for at least twenty-four minutes until he reached me.

“Twenty my ass” I said getting inside his car.

“I was late for three minutes, god!”

“Four” I corrected making him grunt, “can’t you just say Thank you for once?” he grumbled but stopped as he took a minute to study me, a smirk appeared on his disgusting face.

“Finally did it huh?” I gave him a dry look, “Jace, Aubrey is a very special woman and if ever we’re going to do it. I’d make sure we both won’t regret it, or her at least, it shall happen in a right time for something that special is a big deal” I told him with a stern look, “Ok, saying you love the woman would be much easier isn’t it?” he said giving me an exhausted look.

“Jace, I love you but my feelings for Aubrey is far greater than that” he sighed, “Fine, but why do I feel like I just got demoted”

“Anyway, grandpa was looking for you the whole time-“ I cut him off, “just drive and shut up. I don’t want to hear it”

AUBREY

I woke hearing the most irritating sound in the world, my alarm clock. I reached for it and violently pressed the snooze button.

I sat up and realized Drew isn’t here anymore. I just had the best sleep of my life but waking up without Drew somehow made me feel downright disappointed. I looked around hoping she was standing just a few feet away from the bed or in the bathroom. I stared at my bed and noticed I slept on Drew’s shirt. I smiled, maybe she still is here; maybe she’s in the bathroom.

Right, the bathroom, I rushed and opened the door to my bathroom only to be disappointed again. ‘Why am I disappointed anyway, I could see her in school’.
