Aubrey
“So… where are we going?” I asked Jace as I entered the car driven by a driver of course.
“To Drew, where else?” he answered in a matter of fact tone
“Already?” I couldn’t help but ask with a very panicky tone
“Yes, it’s not like we came here to sight see, did we?”
“Y-yeah.. Ok” I responded as my nerves picked up, that was the end of our conversation because I couldn’t really maintain a proper one when I’m rehearsing the things I would say to Drew when I see her. The car came to a stop followed by the engine dying down hinting me that we have reached our destination.
“Ready?” Jace asked as he held his hand for me, I nodded and took it as he led me outside.
“Holy-.. Mother of pearl!” I shouted when I got out, “is.. is this?” I asked letting the question hanging
“Drew’s? Yes” he answered motioning me to follow him inside the ridiculously big house.
I grabbed the back of his shirt when he pushed the door open “Relax Aubrey” he stated laughing
“I can’t-…. I mean, even you were mad at me when I talked to you yesterday, what more for Drew?” I asked tightening my grip as he walked inside
“But you got me to listen to you, if you talk to Drew the way you talked to me I doubt she’d still be mad at you and for all we know, she’s probably not mad at you” he stated looking around, I did the same thing and looked around the big empty house trying to see if there’s a living being here.
“Who else lives here? I would have expected by now to see a lot of maids and whatnot by now” I joked trying to brush my nervousness off.
“They don’t live here, they come here to clean and whatever they do then they leave, there’s another house where they live inside the residence, and it’s the first thing you’ll see once you enter the gate but I can’t blame you if didn’t notice a thing” he explained “Drew’s not comfortable around people as what you already know” he added.
“Jace?” I heard a voice speak, I turned to look up the stairs and saw Eve running towards us.
“Oh my god, Aubrey, you’re here, thank god! We need to leave immediately” she said in panic while dragging Jace and I outside.
“Wait.. wait.. Eve.. we need to see Drew first” Jace stated stopping Eve from her pulling
“Drew is not here, we have no time. Just… damn… get inside the car” she muttered pushing us back to the car.
“OK, what’s going on?” I asked when the car drove off
“Drew’s meeting her fiancée right now and god knows what’s gotten to her but she just suddenly agreed to dad that she’d meet her today and will marry her after. God, I don’t know what’s going on right now, I mean, what about you?” she asked turning to me uneasy
“Wh- what… h-how” I stammered not knowing what to say, “sh-she’s only seventeen, why would she have a fiancée and why would she marry her?” I asked in disbelief “I only see these kind of things in movies” I muttered shaking my head in utter bewilderment.
“Well, it happens to us too and Drew will be eighteen by the end of the month. So-“ she stopped talking when she took her phone out
“What do you mean she left?” she asked the person on the other line
“No freaking way… alright.. ok…” she hung up “Drew left with the girl” she informed turning to us
“What then?” I asked biting my lowed lip trying my best to stop the dam from bursting
