This is a long one so please get comfy, get a snack and enjoy <3N I A L L
"I'm not being dramatic but-
"That's unlike you," I interrupt, earning a scowl from a whining Lilli.
"But I think that if I take another step, my feet will fall off," Lilli whines, stopping in place and bending over to catch her breath.
"We can't stop, we are so close to reaching the city!" I try to explain, wiping the sweat from my brow but Lilli is still bent over and whining.
In fairness to her, we have been walking all day in the scorching heat of the Georgian sun that is beaming down mercilessly and resulting in beads of sweat to coat our freckled and sun-burnt faces.
"Ni, I actually can't."
I walk towards her and place my hand on her back, trying my best to listen to her rather than jump the gun.
"We could always hitch-hike again to-
"Don't even finish that sentence." Lilli warns, looking up at me with the strongest look of disgust that I have ever seen.
I sigh, stretching my arms slightly before motioning for her to get on my back.
"What are you doing?" She asks gently, her big, wide eyes capturing my entire existence.
"I'm going to carry you, idiot," I tease, gaining a slight chuckle of relief from her.
"I'm sweating though," Lilli explains in embarrassment, gaining an eye roll from me.
"As if I would care."
With that she jumps on my back, wrapping her arms around my neck and placing a soft kiss on the back of my sunburnt neck.
"See those lights up ahead?" I ask, using my head to motion to the skyline in front of us that has slowly become brighter and bigger.
"That's our destination," I explain and Lilli nods in understanding, using her hand to shield the sun from her eyes.
"What is there?"
"I have no idea," I admit honestly, gaining a loud laugh from her that causes a chuckle to erupt from myself.
"I still can't believe that we are doing this," Lilli whispers in my ear, the disbelief and excitement clear in her voice.
"We should have done it a long time ago."
Abuse of any kind is normalised extremely quickly, it's the manipulation component of abuse that is the silent killer. It's the contracts and empty promises and agreements that were never actually agreed upon.
Abused people never want to admit that they have suffered - Lilli and I fall into that category.
How can we complain when we have buckets and buckets of money, a massive house, cars of every colour and design, not to mention the enormous amount of fans that we share between ourselves? Privilege is spilling out of our ears but the emotional abuse is still rife. The glamour aids the manipulation because it acts as an illusion."Your new movie, Velvet, what is it about?" I suddenly ask, ashamed that I struggled to remember the name even after that horrendous interview at the hotel and the fact that Lilli has probably told me a million times.
