"Where's the house exactly?" Jason asks.

"It should be at the next left turn." I answer.

I point at the road coming up. Jason looks at the direction I'm pointing at and nods at me. He takes a sharp turn to the left. The road goes on forever with humongous trees swaying in the wind on either side. The sky was just starting to darken, but somewhere close there is light. I can hear music being blasted.

Jason pulls up to the mansion. It was huge. But the house was definitely old but beautiful. He picks out a parking spot and turns off the car. I see my family heading up the stairs into the mansion. Jay gets out and opens my side of the door.

"Shall we?" Jason asks while extending out his hand. I take his hand which only resulted in tingling through my body.

We walk up to the stairs and I stare at the mansion in awe. When we reached inside, the atmosphere smacks me in the face. The music is beating along with my heart. There must be close to 100 people here. Everyone is dancing, singing, and drinking happily in their own vitality. A chandelier hangs proudly in the ceiling encrusted with dazzling diamonds.

Mom and John were dancing happily in their own bliss. Cora sways to the music singing along. The song Bright by Echosmith comes on and I smile. Jason sees this and asks me to dance. I take his hand and let him guide me through the dancefloor.

He looks at me with his dazzling blue eyes making me melt inside. Jason places one hand in mine, interlacing them. His other hand is on my waist. We dance in perfect sync moving through the rythm of the music.

You make me sing ooh ooh ooh
La la la
You make a girl go ooh ooh ooh
I'm in love
Did u see that shooting star tonight?
Were you dazzled by the same constellation?
Did you and jupiter conspire, to get me?
I think you and the moon
And the neptune got it right
Cause now I'm shining bright
So bright
I get lost in your eyes

In that moment, I forget about John, about my weird house, Karl Riddle, almost everything. This is an amazing feeling, I am actually enjoying myself here. Jason is looking at me with his eyes glazed over. He slowly leans in toward me and gives me a kiss on the lips. The kiss sends flutters through my stomach giving me goosebumps.

He pulls away gently, holding my face in his hands.

"You are so beautiful," he says.

The song ends and a more upbeat song starts to play. Another one of my favorite song comes on Professional Griefers by Deadmou5. This is truly a great party. I'm glad mom accepted their invitation.

Jason and I start to dance wildly to the beat. I can't remember being this happy before. My mind actually gets some rest and peace. But my happiness was short lived when mom, John, and Cora comes to see us.

"Bethany, these are our neighbours," mom states. 'Mr. and Mrs. Thomson."

"Pleasure to meet you." I say.

"Yeah, sick party you guys have here!" Jason exclaims.

"Thank you, you guys are sweet." Mr. Thomson replies.

I shake both of their hands in greeting. Mr. Thomson whispers something to Mrs. Thomson making her eyes go wide in fear. I look at them with a confused look on my face.

"I think you guys better leave now." Mrs. Thomson orders.

We all just look at her in shock.

"What!? Why? Did we do something wrong?" Mom asks frantically while trying to hold in a cry. John pats her back soothingly whispering to her ear that it's alright.

"Just please leave." Mr. Thomson says.

Mom walks away with a huff almost making Cora and I giggle. But we dare not to.

Jason whispers 'c'mon' into my ear and I follow him out with my family. I was just having a wonderful time, and the next minute it's a complete disaster. My anger is consuming me at the moment making me fear my capabilities. Everything's has been shit since we moved here. There is definitely something fishy about all this nonsense going on.

I will stop at nothing to figure it out.
