"What exactly did I do?" I ask the officer with genuine confusion. He shakes his head at me letting out a huge sigh. Immediately I begin to feel a sense of dread and fear. I have no idea what's going on. So many unanswered questions are laid before me. It feels like I've been living in an endless escapade of lies.
"Bethany, you killed your family and your friend. Now are you going to tell us why you did this?"
I shake my head at the officers while anger rises within me. I manage to spit out an answer through my teeth lacing my words with venom.
"I didn't do anything!"
"According to forensic analysis, your fingerprints have been found on an axe, a knife and a shovel. Which all were covered or slightly contained the blood of the diseased. We had our tech run through individual tests and analytics. It came down to one, and it matched yours exactly."
"You got to believe me!" I cried, "I didn't kill my family! Or Jason!"
He looks at me with sympathy and glances over at the other officer. I look at them on the verge of tears. One of the officers shoots me a glare and brushes off my cries.
"We all know you did it, just confess. Then this will be all over."
"I didn't do it! I swear!" By now I'm bawling my eyes out and I can't seem to stop.
"Just admit your a cold hearted killer darling."
I look up to see which officer said it but both looked just as surprised as I am. Another man walks through the door motioning for the officers to leave.
He locks the door and introduces himself as David. I solemnly greet him back. David takes the seat across from me at the table. He stares at me intently as if reading my thoughts. Finally when I couldn't take it anymore, I speak up.
"Can you please explain to me what's going on?"
"I thought that was clear already. You're a killer. A young killer that killed four people in one day."
"No!"
David then lets out a loud laugh making me startled. Why is he laughing? Is he out of his mind? He then stops and grins at me.
Suddenly David's appearance started to change. His head starting twitching weirdly. It seems as if he is morphing into something or someone else. I back away quickly knocking the chair down in the process. This can't be happening.
The officers kick the door open but he turns and gestures his hand at them. Both officers' heads gave a sickening crack and fell to the floor. I scream at the sight before me.
"Missed me darling? You didn't really think I was gone did you? No one is going to believe you."
Before me in the flesh is Karl Riddle. He flashes me a smile. The sight of his mouth makes me want to vomit. Spiders and centepedes were crawling out of his mouth. Blood seeps down both sides. Karl didn't seem to notice or care at all.
I hear someone running coming from outside of the door and then a constant pounding. "Open up! This is detective Wes!"
"It's over Beth, you're mine now."
"W-wha..."
Before I could finish my sentence my whole body turns ice cold. I can't breathe. I immediately drop to the floor with a thump. I see Karl slowly come towards me and vanish. A loud ragged gasp escapes me.
