We're on a break again which means more interludes until June 13th when I post the Episode 14 chapter. This time I'll do summer flashbacks along with some flashforwards. Stay tuned.

"Uno," Simone yelled, dancing and chewing on her hot wing.

"That bet not be another draw four card or we're fighting, babe," Jordan teased, trying to take a peek at Simone's lone card.

"Uh, uh, scoot back my good sir. Stop cheating," Simone held up her hand and continued dancing across the table. "Your turn Liv."

Olivia looked over her cards and sighed, "I hate you all," she drew from the deck until she found a match.

"Don't be a sore loser, sis," Jordan chuckled, taking his turn and laughing at his sister's side-eye. Spencer took his turn in silence and then Simone slapped down her last card.

"Uno out, suckas!"

"Wow, again," Jordan said. "She wins this game every time we play. Pick something else next time."

"You're all haters but I love you. I better get going, it's getting late," Simone said, pushing herself to her feet and rubbing her pregnant belly. "Bye sis. Bye Spence." She hugged them both and grabbed Jordan's hand.

"I'm going to walk her out," Jordan announced.

"I swear they have some type of telepathy thing going on or something. You notice how they always beat us" Olivia concluded, grabbing the dirty cups and plates from the table. Spencer helped by grabbing the empty soda cans, following behind Olivia.

"Maybe we should figure out how to do that so we can beat them next time at that couples game we played last week,"  Spencer shrugged his shoulders.

"Hmmm, can you read my mind though is the question," Olivia questioned, squinting her eyes.

"Liv, I know you like the back of my hand. You're damn right I can read you. The question is if you can read me. Remember I'm special," Spencer teased, rinsing out the cans and throwing them into the recycling bin.

"Oh my God, shut up. By now I know you better than anyone. Even yourself." Their flirty banter had gotten worse over the summer after all the time they spent together. Even after an awkward encounter days ago, they were still the same Olivia and Spencer.

"You two fight like a married couple," Jordon added on his way back into the house. "Speaking of marriage, are you coming to Vegas with us in a few weeks?"

"I'm not sure. Probably not, I have a lot to do with my podcast," Olivia lied. She had caught up on her podcast the previous week. Honestly over the summer she felt a shift in her relationship with Spencer. They had been close from day one but when he began dating Layla things became platonic. Olivia assumed Spencer never saw her in the way she saw him and it was simple to just move on with Chris and Asher, even if it hurt. After the shooting, she felt the first shift and then over the summer things started feeling very different.

Spencer didn't look at her the same, they found a reason to touch each other or be in each other's space. One night they almost crossed the line before Grace called Spencer. They both ignored the fact that they were close to kissing and didn't bring it up after that night. But, Olivia couldn't forget it. Going to Vegas seemed like a threat to their friendship because she could feel their sexual tension about to spill over at home in Beverly Hills.

"Aw come on Liv, it'll be fun. Take a break and enjoy yourself before school starts back up," Jordan whined, sitting on the counter.

"Won't it be a couples trip type thing? You and Simone, Spencer and Layla? Yeah, I'm not playing the fourth wheel with JJ," Olivia explained, gagging at the thought of hanging out with JJ. "I'll be fine."

"I'm not with Layla," Spencer mentioned.

"The whole point of you going is to get back with her though.  Am I right?"

Spencer shook his head and stayed silent. He couldn't figure out what he was feeling and it confused him. For a guy who was up front with his feelings and what he wanted, he was stumped. Truth was, he had fallen in love with Olivia Baker and he didn't know it, yet.
