Small interlude based on my episode 16 chapter prediction.

After the blowup at Friendsgiving, Olivia had been paying close attention to her mental health. She had scheduled a session with her addiction counselor and kept in contact with Nurse Joy as she navigated her recovery from that night. Layla had called a few times and Olivia ignored the calls. After seeing that Carrie was still around after what she had said made Olivia feel like Layla didn't care. In the back of her mind, she knew Carrie had played the manipulation game and Layla had sadly fallen for it again. It was upsetting but Olivia had to let it go for her own good.

Spencer, Jordan and Simone made sure to check in with Olivia who had not been as talkative. To avoid another relapse, the family pulled together and had game nights and extra family dinners to give her the support and love she needed. Feeling loved was helpful for Olivia who was struggling with her confidence. Time and time again, Spencer reiterated that what Carrie said wasn't true, through his words and most importantly, his actions. He showed up and supported Olivia in her counseling visits and whenever she simply wanted to hang out. They still hadn't talked about their current relationship and Spencer wasn't in a rush. Right now, Olivia needed his presence and that's where his intentions were at the moment.

"I think it will be good for Liv. All of us really," Simone suggested. Her aunt in Atlanta had suggested she come visit Bringston University before she made any final decisions on which college she wanted to attend. "She said she'll pay for our rooms or we can stay with her. I just need to let her know before Wednesday."

"How many days," Spencer asked.

"Friday to Sunday. Enough time for us to get away from here and clear our heads. Especially Liv," Simone replied. "Who knows, maybe she'll like that school. If it's how my aunt described, that's right up Liv's alley. The social justice stuff, arts... she'll love that."

Spencer didn't even want to think of Olivia being far away in Atlanta while he was in Toledo. He hadn't accepted the scholarship nor made his relationship with Olivia official. "Olivia at an HBCU? I can see it," Jordan agreed. "You two down to go, Spence?"

"I don't see why not. A break away from home is always good in my book." He needed a break away from the noise as much as anyone else. Luckily, they didn't have practice on Friday evenings, leaving his weekend open.

"Aye, this is going to be fun. Vegas 2.0," Simone danced.

"Please don't get married this time or do anything else we have to keep a secret," Spencer warned with a chuckle.

"We'll be on our best behavior. We should be telling you and Olivia that," Simone added, wrapping her arms around Jordan's waist.

"I'm sure we'll be on our best behavior. Trust me."

Jordan and Simone grinned at each other when Spencer turned his head. Part of their plan was to also get Spencer and Olivia away from home to figure out their relationship. With all the distractions in Los Angeles, they had not been forced to discuss how they wanted to move forward. Being away from home would give them the opportunity and Spencer had fallen right into Jordan and Simone's plan.

"What are you guys down here talking about," Olivia interrupted the trio when she walked into the kitchen.

"Good afternoon, sleepy head," Jordan ruffled his sister's curls. "We were just talking about our trip to Atlanta next weekend."

"Trip to Atlanta? Who's going on a trip." Olivia sat next to Spencer on a barstool. "You two looking at schools down there for football?"

"Nope, I'm visiting an HBCU. Ever heard of Bringston University," Simone quizzed.

"I don't think so. That's cool," Olivia shrugged her shoulders, slightly offended that she hadn't been invited on the trip. "I hope you all have fun."

Spencer, Simone and Jordan snickered as Olivia stared at them blankly. "You think we're leaving you behind," Spencer laughed. "You're coming too. We figured you could use a break."

"Oh! When are we leaving, I'll pack right now," Olivia beamed. Her happiness made Spencer happy.

"Next weekend," Jordan answered. "This will be fun! Got my sis and my bro and the wifey. We'll have a good time."

"As long as no one gets married this time around," Olivia mumbled under her breath.

"Same thing I said," Spencer noted, gripping Olivia's thigh under the counter.

"You two are annoying. No one will do anything to get you in trouble this time," Simone said with a laugh. "Promise."

Promises were meant to be broken.
