Summer Flashback - Inspired by Spencer Paysinger and his wife Blair's interview about their relationship. Spelivia is endgame, that's all I'll say.

"I don't like clowns, Spencer," Olivia shuddered while Spencer bent over in a fit of laughter. They were scrolling through Netflix in search of a movie to watch. Laura had just left for a business trip and Jordan was spending time with Simone since her parents were on vacation. Spencer decided to spend the night in Beverly Hills with Olivia home alone for the weekend.

"It's just a movie, Liv. There is no such thing as IT," Spencer choked, trying to contain his laughter only to fail miserably. Olivia refused to even look at the screen while the movie was on and found comfort hiding under Spencer's arm for the entire film.

"That's what those kids thought too. Never watching that again," she shook her hands, hoping to shake off the images of IT climbing out of the cabinet from her memory.

"You didn't even watch it. I think my arm got most of your attention. Pick something else scary for us to watch then," Spencer replied, still amused by Olivia's fear. "Next time we're watching the original though. My mom said that one is scarier."

"You'll be watching it alone. Screw that movie," Olivia gagged, snatching the remote and scrolling through the list of horror classics. "Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Cabin Fever, The Hills Have Eyes?"

"Cabin Fever. Never seen that one before," Spencer said, settling back against the couch. Over the summer, the pair had become closer, bonding over their love for horror movies.

"If it's one of those torture flicks, I don't know if I can take too much," Olivia squirmed, thinking back to their SAW marathon weeks ago. "Cutting toes off, ripping fingernails off one by one....I can't."

"Don't come running to my room again because you can't sleep," Spencer warned, pressing play on the remote.

"Wow, you're really coming at me for that one time?"

"Spencer are you sleeping? Can I come in, I can't sleep," he mocked, dodging Olivia's hand.

"Rosemary's Baby was scary as hell. Don't pretend you weren't scared to sleep alone that night. You probably wanted me there," Olivia argued, crossing her arms in defense.

"I was fine until you started snatching the covers. You sleep like a wild child. Never sleeping with me again unless you bring your own blanket," Spencer rested his arm across the back of the couch and it became natural for Olivia to lean back against it. They were beginning to get questioned about their current relationship and acted oblivious to the attraction that others could see between them.

By the middle of the movie, they were both exhausted and struggling to keep their eyes open. They succumbed to their drowsiness and didn't even make it to the ending credits before light snores filled the living room.

The next morning, Spencer woke up to Olivia's hair tickling his chin. Her legs were tangled around his and her arms were draped over his midsection. He wasn't sure how they ended up in this position or why it felt so comfortable. Olivia finally began to stir. Without much thought, she drifted back off to sleep, tightening her grip around Spencer's waist.

"Liv" he whispered into her ear. "We should probably get up."

Hearing Spencer's voice, brought her back to reality, "Oh my God, I'm sorry," Olivia apologized, rushing  to her feet. Good thing no one came home to see them in such a compromising position. "I dont- I don't even know how I ended up sleeping on you. Sorry."

"It's cool. Guess we were just tired," Spencer added, fluffing the pillows and placing them back in their original place on the couch.

For the rest of the morning, they exchanged gazes, realizing there was a shift they couldn't explain.

More interludes coming soon! I'm full of ideas right now.
