THIRD PERSON POV
—After breakfast Elizabeth wished her mother a good day, seeing as she'd probably not see her for the rest of the day.
But that was also perfect because it gave Elizabeth room to go see Meliodas without having to worry about her others finding out.As always it was a short swim.
she broke through the water, already having a smile on her face.
"Oh, hey!" She heard Meliodas from shore.
Her smile widened, happy that she wouldn't have to wait.
She swam closer until her tail was barely just underwater on the shoreline.
Meliodas was out fishing again."I'm sorry I wasn't here yesterday" Elizabeth apologized, wondered if he had thought of where she was.
"What? Oh, no don't worry about it Elizabeth" he paused.
He couldn't help but think that they had gotten casual with each other fairly quickly. It was nice.
"I don't at all expect you to set every day aside. You have your own life to live after all""So do you I assume?" Elizabeth used that small opportunity to try and learn more about Meliodas.
"You'd be surprised" Meliodas laughed as he began to pack his fishing gear away, wanting to only focus on Elizabeth.
"By what?" Elizabeth tilted ger head to the side, not sure of what Meliodas meant.
"How little of i life I have, and no it's not a metaphor for my height" Meliodas joked and despite not being able to stand next to him to compare Elizabeth knew he was short and laughed.
"But don't you have any family?" She asked but then clapped a hand over her mouth.
"I'm sorry that's rude of me to ask""No not at all, it's just a question" Meliodas chuckled and moved to sit in the sand closer to her.
"I actually have a younger brother, but he's got a life of his own in a different village. Even got a wife, that lucky bastard" Meliodas laughed.
Back in the day before Meliodas was seen as somewhat as the village weirdo he had girls swarming all around him while his brother, timid and quiet was bullied."I wish I had siblings" Elizabeth sighed.
"Why?"
"Well..." Elizabeth moved to sit in the shallow waters more comfortable.
"My mother is kind of..the...queen?""Now hold on" Meliodas suddenly seemed dazed.
"You're a princess?"Elizabeth simply nodded shyly.
"Oh okay then, carry on" Meliodas shrugged and let her know that she could carry on with her explanation, but Elizabeth was shocked by his reaction, or rather lack thereof.
"Wait, you're not surprised?"
Meliodas seemed to look for an answer for a good five seconds before he spoke.
"Well yes, but also no... after all you look like a princess, you talk like a princess and you carry yourself like one. Not to say I've met other princesses" he chuckled at the end as Elizabeth watched him in stunned awe.
She couldn't believe how down to earth he truly was."Well" Elizabeth did as he told her before and continued on with her explanation.
"My mother is always busy, and I'm not good at making or keeping friends around. I guess I always thought it would be nice to have someone. A-Although i have friends that can be described as being like siblings to me" she was quick to add.
"I wonder, is it like that for humans too?"Meliodas smiled sadly at her.
"Yeah, the more you speak the more I'm convinced the only difference between us is the tail" Meliodas joked and Elizabeth just smiled.
"My father didn't have time for me and my brother either...actually i practically raised Zeldris, but i was just a kid myself"
