Warping my hand onto the edge of the cup, I pick it up. Taking a sip, savoring the Oolong tea. It was floral, fruity, and has a thick mouthfeel in the cup. Giving it a strong and refreshing green taste. I hummed, placing the teacup onto the table. Enjoying my tea. While I worked on my paperwork.
Filling in the empty slots with information. I furrowed my brows, feeling a wave of pity rush over me. We had lost over 200+ soldiers from the last mission. Luck had never been on our side, but I wish it could for our next one. All the death had caused a traumatic troll on the other squads.Dropping the pen on the table. Staring out the window, I took another sip of my Oolong tea.
Enjoying the peace while it lasted. I cocked a brow, spotting my squad relaxing around the stables. Chatting and having a great time. The real question was if they finished cleaning or not.
Standing up, I swiftly placed my jacket on the back of my chair. Pushing the wooden furniture into the desk. Careful to not let it scrape the floor. The room was pretty stuffy and humid. Which wasn't a surprise since it was the middle of summer right now. Deciding that a walk outside to take a breather was good enough. Before I have to resume back to the unfinished paperwork. That was neatly stacked up into two piles on the table.
Paddling towards the door. I opened it. Just to come face to face to a lieutenant. He looked down at me. Mix emotions of unsureness and confusion were written all over his face.
"If you're not going to say something, then leave."
He shivered slightly, standing up straight. Bring his shoulders back, shifting his hands up to his chest with a thump. "Commander Erwin asked for your presence."
"That wasn't so hard, wasn't it?" I mumbled, "Tell him. I'm coming soon."
"Yes, sir."
He gave me another salute. Excusing himself, walking down the hall to deliver the message to Erwin. I cocked a brow, contemplating him as he disappeared down the passage. I sighed, pushing off the doorway. Closing the door behind me as I made my way to the cafeteria. Craving for some more Oolong tea.
Cruising down the hall. My ears had picked up the chattering of comrades. They were all hushed and silent. It looked like gossips spread through the room like a fire. It only fell quiet as I walked into the room. Skimming around for any sign of endangerment. To be honest. I couldn't care less. All I wanted was to grab a cup of tea and head back to my office.
"Did you see her?"
"Yea. Why is one of the pigs here?"
Someone whispered back. Now curiously has taken over me. Paddling to the two soldiers with a question in mind.
"What are you guys talking about?"
They tense up, recognizing my voice. Slowly turning their heads. Making eye contact with me. It was dead silent for a moment. Waiting for someone to answer my question. In my peripheral vision, I watched as a comrade stood up. Saluting to me in the process.
