Little sparks of fire flew with the breeze. Branches were added into the fire, little by little to keep it alive against the harsh winds. The stars tonight were brighten than most, bringing contrast to the sky. The moon has rise to give the world its light and the sky seemed closer, so close that it felt like you could touch it just by extending your arms up. Well, I guess this was how you're suppose to feel when you're resting on a fifty meter wall.
The breaded man glanced at his two accomplices. Their sullen expressions, face full of dread. Tonight was the night before their attack. Reiner sighed, he reminded himself that it was his duty as a soldier and disregarded all the lives he had taken with his own two hands. Zeke could only sigh and took the kettle which was now filled with boiling water. He poured each one of them a cup of coffee and passed the steaming cups to them.
He watched as they accepted it with two hands. It was silent, everything was quiet, uncomfortably quiet. Zeke blew on his cup, hoping it'll cool down faster if he blew on it. From his peripheral vision, he spotted a figure.
That being said. Reiner and Bertolt did too. Their hands were already wrapped around the handles of their blades, both prepared to fight. But wishing they wouldn't have to shift this time around.
The hooded figure jumped up onto the wall, pressing the lever to retract their hooks. The air felt heavy as the tension rise. The person was dressed in all black, wearing black combat boots, a black cape, and a black turtleneck with the leather straps that the Survey Crops wore with their ODM gear. You get the point...
Standing there, their cape flew with the wind. The two were confused...why would this mysterious person pick a fight with them? They shuddered suddenly when they felt eyes on them. Reiner's eyes flickered to Zeke, who was busy blowing on his tea. It looks like the bearded man had no care for this stranger that could be a potential threat.
"Zeke."
Finally someone broke the silence. The figure, which they had assumed was an woman based on her voice and her smaller frame. But she was still taller than the average woman.
Zeke blinked, placing his cup down, next to him. He looked over at the woman with a cheeky smile. Reiner and Bertolt blinked a few times, even more confused. Why was Zeke so friendly with this stranger?
"I see you stole that gear from one of the dead corpse." He commented, mostly talking to himself. The woman walked up to him, sliding out one of her blades. Her reaction prompted Reiner and Bertolt to do the same. Zeke peered over to them, edging them to put their blades away. "Reiner. Bertolt. Put down your weapons."
"What?!" They both screamed out in unison, "But she has her blades out as well!?"
There was a loud clink sound, her blades bounced off the concrete wall and flew down into one of the destroyed houses. Her eyes flickered back to Zeke, who could only grin.
Reiner scrunched up his face in pain, his heart was beating too damn fast. Her eyes...her eyes were deadly. He thought he was losing it when he saw absolutely nothing when they made eye contact with her. It was getting harder to breathe and he was forced to gasp for air. His lungs were collapsing and his throat was closing. Sweat dripped down the side his face. Two shiny shoes came into his vision, tilting his head up, he glanced at the woman in fear.
"Is this what you call an soldier?" She sneered, glaring at the blond man that was on his knees, "Thought the military did better then this."
"Well, no body can be like you Cymbre." His blue eyes stayed on the woman the whole time. "No one could hold so much power as your eyes can-"
His neck forcefully yanked up. The feeling of cold metal against his skin sent shivers down his spine. His blue eyes flickered to the ground. Avoiding her eyes, since he knew if he stared into them, his heart would stop beating. The blade graze against his pale skin, drawing blood. It dripped down the blade onto the floor.
