BACK-TO-BACK COMING OUT

Kung may verbal communication skills, may written communication skills. Pagdating sa “coming out of the closet”, pwede rin itong i-apply. Well, kung gagawin mo ito nang verbal, isisigaw mo sa madla na.. “I’m a lesbian and I’m proud of it.” Pero kung gusto mong may pagka-creative ang dating, pwede mo ito idaan sa pagsusulat ng book. Kagaya ng ginawa ni Patricia Velasquez na tinalakay sa News: International section ng magazine ding ito. Siya ang nagsulat ng book na Straight Walk: A Supermodel’s Journey to Finding her Truth. Dito niya inihayag ang kanyang tunay na gender bilang isang lesbian.

Ang Wattpad ay mabisang tool para makapagsulat ka ng e-book na Girl-to-Girl stories. Dito, you can freely express yourself. Dito, pwede ka magladlad ng tunay mong pagkatao. Masasabi mo ang gusto mong sabihin.

Pero iyon nga, minsan may tinatawag tayong writer’s block. Outline pa lang ang ginagawa mo or mismong eksena na, may technique akong ibibigay sayo para dyan. Let your ideas “come out.”

Do you remember singing the last song that you’ve heard? Yeah, that is what you call the Last Song Syndrome. E yung tipong bad trip ka then you heard an upbeat song and then your mood becomes positively hyper all of a sudden?

There are also students while they are reviewing, they wear headphones. It is very common for us Filipinos. The Basang Sisiw’s article says, “Showcasing the Pinoy’s natural talent, whether he is a true-blue singer or just a frustrated one, is evident more especially during fiestas, festivals and other events in the life of a belting Filipino. And this romance spans even before the time of Magellan. Even during the pre- Hispanic times, Filipinos were known to be intent music lovers. With their own ethnic musical instruments like flutes, nose flutes and guitars, they expressed their penchant for the art in any way they can”.

Sa librong isinulat ni Mr. Ricky Lee na Trip to Quipo, nagbigay siya ng isang Writing Exercise para sa paglawak ng imagination. Ang activity niya ay makikinig ng isang soundtrack ng isang pelikula at isulat ang mga images na papasok sa isipan.

And so ano ang ibig sabihin ng lahat ng ito? It’s music that builds up emotions and thoughts.

So, there it goes. Before your eyes would be nailed on the computer, play the music first. Then, music would derive thoughts and then, words.

But, of course the music depends upon the scene of your chapter. If it’s a love scene, piliin mo ang love songs. Kung horror, metal or rock music is great. And so on.

Listen to music before writing. Parang pagkain lang iyan. Kapag nilunok mo ang food (experience), the next thing is mada-digest ito sa stomach (mind) with the help of the intestines (music). After that, it will come out sa pwet (paper) bilang tae (words). Enjoy coming out of the closet! Enjoy writing your Girl-to-Girl stories with coming out ideas!
