Tommy POV

Shit.

Shit, but also thank god.

She was telling the truth. She had come through, doing everything I asked. The past few days, anxiety had been weighing down on my shoulders, which were already dropping with the responsibilities I had. I couldn't sleep at night, my mind taunting me with the thought that it was a trap or a lie.

That it was all a mistake.

How could I trust the enemy? What if she arrived with an army behind her, intending to draw me out and kill me?

But something told me to believe her.

I think, if she wanted me dead, she would have done it in the woods. She would have left me thrashing, my head underwater and air slipping away from me.

But sure enough, (Y/n) arrived outside the walls at 10 pm, sharp, alone and carrying a sack of everything I needed. She was there, just as promised.

Thank god.

Thank god, but also shit.

Sure, she arrived, but not exactly in the way I planned. I had not expected Wilbur to be there, and certainly not pinning her to the ground.

I guess I hadn't considered how bad this would look to anyone else, to see no one but the Queen of the Dream SMP standing outside enemy walls. And now, even though I had reassured Wilbur that we could trust (Y/n), he still glanced over at her apprehensively every few seconds. It was an improvement though, at least now he wasn't looking ready to strangle her.

"Well?" Wilbur prompted, sounding impatient. "Is anyone going to explain?"

I exchanged a glance with (Y/n), and she gave me a resigned shrug.

"She sent me a letter, saying she was sorry for everything her brother and his friends did, and then she offered to help us," I said, facing Wilbur to try and catch his reaction.

"And I wrote her back, telling me to bring all this stuff-" I gestured to the pack on my shoulder, "And meet me outside the walls at 10 pm, alone."

Wilbur looked skeptical and unamused, and I became defensive.

"And she did. Look, Will. Everything turned out just fine, so give it a rest."

"And how did she know where to find you?" He asked, as if (Y/n) was not walking right beside us.

"We ran into each other, in the forest. He almost drowned, and he told me of all the things being done behind my back," (Y/n) answered for me, seeming snappish in her response.

"Behind your back? You must not be a very good ruler, if your own family hides things from you, no?" Wilbur quipped back, and the insult stung enough for me to see (Y/n) flinch in the corner of my eye.

But she recovered in no time, sending words back to him with the same venom. "And I could say the same to you, Mr. President."

He whirled around to face her, his feet stopping completely. (Y/n) turned to him as well, and they stood in the path in a silent showdown. They had the same anger on their face, but in different tones. Wilbur looked unfiltered and furious, while (Y/n) seemed to feel as if Wilbur was only a minor annoyance.

"OKAY, guys. Let's all stop with the insult battle for now. You can get back to it later," I tried to instigate the fight brewing, grabbing both of their hands and pulling them forward on the path. They followed reluctantly, the air still simmering with unlit anger.

After a moment of silence, Wilbur started speaking again, inquiring me. "Does Tubbo know of this?"

"No," I replied casually, but that clearly wasn't the answer he wanted.
