A book rested in soft pale hands as they flipped through it in a fast pace.

Vladimir took over the words with wide eyes before calling his friend that stood just in the other end of the Volturi library, that had been shown by no other than Heidi Volturi during the tour they assisted earlier that day.

"What is it?"Stefan asked scanning slightly the giant book held by the other.

"I found this book on every member of the Volturi, it was handwritten by Aro himself." The blond male briefly explained with a cold expression slightly gulping before continuing. "That's the page on him."

There was no need to elaborate further in who «him» was seeing as during most conversations they held about Euthymius they didn't use his name, choosing to only refer to him as «him»

"Chapter VII: Il manipolatore ." The brown haired male glanced at the other with the same expression as the other one when he had read the first part. "Euthymius Volturi, my brother. He might be the youngest of my brothers however his capacities seem to be endless. He has exibited great fight skills and strategy, his posture is probably the best I have ever seen, right after Marcus and myself. He is particularly great when it comes to his footwork. Euthymius has gained his ranking as the Head of The Volturi guard thanks to his battle strategy and his leadership skills."

"Continue." Vladimir said crossing his arms over his old clothes, he was supposed to be wearing the new clothes the Volturi had gifted to them however having his clothes gave him a assurance that he had yet to lose his pride completely.

"His gift is the alteration of memories. It only works if the victim or target are within eyesight. The happening of the use of powers follow this succession.
I- He gazes into the target's eyes.
II- Euthymius will scan over the chosen mind and the target stays frozen for only a minute.
III- From within his mind, Euthymius creates a new memory from scratch.
IV- He places the new memory and deletes any other that will contradict the new one.
V- Finally the targets eyes go black and the body will go limp and after that the target won't remember the old memory or the fact that their mind was assessed by Euthymius.
I have seen the gift in numerous occasions and the results are simply terrific and quite an horrendous sight for those who had never seen it in action before. The gift has to be one of the most powerful in our coven."

"The manipulator. And here I thought he couldn't have more... qualities." Vladimir's sarcasm dripped from his angelic voice."If he is the younger brother to a king, does that make him a prinţ?"

"Euthymius is more of a bodyguard, I believe." They both snapped their attention to a new girl who entered the room, Chelsea Volturi. She scanned the other males in front of her before commenting."Never took him for the kind to like the short ones."

Vladimir's face contorted in dislike as the other approached the two of them, he could practically see the innocent blood dripping from her fingers as her red dress seemed to prolong deeper down her legs as it became liquid, her white teeth mocking them as she was no longer only smiling in his mind, but bitting down on a neck.

His soft hands balled into a first and he fixed his composure.

"There is no need to fret about the overcomes of the gift, he won't be using it on you anyways. He only uses it when necessary, Euthymius is a calculative person, though he's been acting more on emotions lately, he still wouldn't go crazy with it."

'Was that supposed to be reassuring?' Vladimir thought raising his brow, he glanced at his best friend with a judgemental gaze as the other returned the doubtful feelings.

Another person entered the room abruptly followed by three other, the laughter echoed in the room as the loud talking took over the previously calm atmosphere as Renata, Santiago, Demetri and Afton Volturi entered the room.

However their good mood was ruined as they set their gaze on the strange duo, confusion irradiated from them as they looked at the other, they still hadn't been informed of the situation due to their absence thanks to a mission.

"What are they doing here?" Renata asked as she sat down next to Chelsea at a table a few feet away from them both.

Demetri blinked as realization washed over his features and a snort soon escaped his lips.

"It makes sense now." He commented amused as he sat down next to the others as well, he looked at the duo who was sneering at the others.

"Do enlighten me Demetri, what makes sense now?" Santiago asked squinting his eyes at the two.

"Euthymius asked me who they were during the battle. They're his mates." He concluded with a knowing grin, Santiago's gaze was judgemental while Afton bursted out laughing however when he saw the others not laughing along he quietened down

"Wait are you serious?" Afton's eyes widened while shock flooded his system.

"That's impossible." Santiago spoke out, he knew how much Euthymius hated the Romanian coven for what they had done to Didyme, worry was evident in his face as he grazed at the other two with blurry eyes, deep in thought.

"Apparently it isn't." Renata said leaning further in her chair, her eyes caught sight of the book in their hands and her eyes squinted. "What are you doing with that? Looking for the weak points?"

"We aren't here to do anything of that kind, we came for our mate." Stefan spoke out with discomfort evident in his voice.

"Sure." They all spoke out at the same time, all sharing the doubt within them.

Vladimir rolled his eyes and simply walked away from the group, heading towards a secretary in the corner in a human pace.

"I would advise you not to sit there." Chelsea commented from behind him and he simply ignored her and sat down anyways.

Stefan closed his eyes and released a sigh at the antics of his best friend.

'His stubbornness will be the death of him.'

The white haired male glanced over the stone wall beside him noticing a few cravings on it and focusing solely on them.

He felt a figure next to him and he immediately assumed it was Stefan, his fingers pointed towards his back.

"Those guards should have more respect, we are the guests of honour here." He commented with a innocent facade before looking up.

The stoic pale features looked back at him with cold eyes, whoever he could distinguish amusement behind the walls of the red fortress.

The blond gulped at the other and attempted to make his face hardened, however his gaping mouth betrayed him.

Euthymius stood above him in his full glory.
