The faint sunshine peeked through the stained glass window in his study, illuminating the halo of hair surrounding Euthymius.

A knock on the mangrove door finally sounded, his expectant eyes tracing the doorknob that slowly turned. "Master Euthymius?"

"Do enter, Chelsea." He commanded, crossing his legs and dipping his fountain pen in the pot of ink in the corner. "I assume you completed the paperwork on the Georgians as I told you and Santiago to do?"

A sheepish grin formed in her face, proving to be the answer to his question, his eyebrows shot up and his jaw clenched. "I'm sorry, Euthymius, there are still a few details I have to go over with Santiago, mainly the particular number of coven members involved in the exposure of our kind."

"Two weeks that I've given you and Santiago, three if you count the one you will have to complete it in. What is the matter?" The dark haired male questioned dropping the pen and staring intently at her. "Are you having problems with the language barrier in the documents, or is it because you fought with Renata and Santiago again?"

"Second option." She shadilly replied hiding her face behind her hands. "Can you believe they called Afton irresponsible? My mate was insulted, I cannot manage to understand anyone who badmouths my love."

"They mustn't have meant to say it with ill intentions, Afton is Santiago's best friend." He reasoned. "Although, what I would instead consider irresponsible is the lack of professionalism of delivering an important document on time."

"Please, what can I do to make it up to you?" The brown haired woman offered, sighing in despair, watching the change of expression in the face of her superior.

"Well there is something you could do..." Euthymius admitted in a natural tone, peering at her through his eyelashes. The red eyes of Chelsea Volturi widened in curiosity as she nodded to tell him to carry on.

He cleared his throat and stood up silently, heading towards the painting hanging in the left wall of his office, his sister's face stared at him with her joy-filled eyes, glinting like a river in the sun. His movement allowed her to finally notice the pair of Romanians in the corner sitting at an extra desk, reading a novel.

For a moment he hesitated, his chest tightened, nonetheless he examined her face."Were you close to my sister, Chelsea?"

She tore her attention away from his mates and softly shook her head. "I hoped to be, but I was fearful of approaching her. I had just entered the coven and I still didn't know if there were barriers between the kings and the guards."

"Didyme was everything. She was sunshine, she was warmth, kindness personified." He let out, his voice came out hoarse. "She had a tough side if you ever were to harm our family. You do not know how many suitors we had to chase away in Athens, everyday a new one would appear." A soft chuckle escaped him as he remembered her cheering him on to push away the overwhelming boys.

The woman remained silent, observing the emotions in his face and the reactions of the men in the corner.

"My sister was the one who healed the wounds our father would leave me and Aro with, the one who placed herself in front of his rage and the one who held our hands as we transformed into vampires."

"Your father was abusive?" Chelsea asked, mortified and by the quiet gasps of the Romanians, she assumed it was also their first time hearing of it.

"Yes, unfortunately it was the way most of our time were punished." He explained. "Me and Aro had this nickname for him, you see? We called him katōmóchanos, which means, well it is better if you do not know." A mischievous smile grew on his face as he glanced at his mates warmly before returning to his distant expression.

Euthymius let out a sigh before beginning his interrogation. "You were here, that night?" It was a question in its nature but by the mere tone it was imposed she revealed more than a simple yes.

"Yes, in the dungeons with the newborns, along with Heidi and Afton. Caius tasked us with training them as you were out on your mission." Chelsea revealed.

The greek man shared a glance with Stefan who discreetly wrote down the information in Romanian.

"We were too far from the gardens, we couldn't have stopped it from happening even after we heard a commotion." She remarked sadly, eyes filling with venom.

A simple mind entering confirmed her story, taking out another one of the suspects.

"I suppose another week for the report won't hurt, but please make amends with your colleagues." He made the ultimatum, and rushed her out of his study.

When Euthymius, Vladimir and Stefan made sure she was out of ear-shot, they examined the list once again.

"Anyone else to exclude?" Stefan asked, prompting the standing male to lean over both of them to examine the sheet in the center of the table.

"Felix, Demetri, Santiago and Renata are out of the question because they were with me on the mission about the London coven." He reminded. "Chelsea, Heidi and Afton all check out on their alibis. All that remains is Alec and Jane who are clearly in on the plan and the kings, excluding Marcus."

"Which means..." Stefan started, eyes squinted.

"My brother could be involved in this in some way." Euthymius finished, sitting down as his knees became weak. His pale hands rose up to his head, caressing his forehead and his shoulder length hair. Pink lips released an exasperated sigh. "I just can't believe Aro would hide something so big from me, willingly."

"So far, we aren't allowed to blindly trust your brother." The blond one reasoned, pushing the sheet towards the brunette on the opposite side.

"You don't know him like I do. When we were human, he would pull us to a hiding spot whenever my father tried to hit me, comfort Didyme, he stayed by my mother's side as she was taken by her disease. He always told me of everything he did or knew. Aro wouldn't."

"We are not human anymore, time changes the way one is or acts." Vladimir crossed his arms as Stefan placed a hand on the shoulder of Euthymius.

"Euthymius, we will find out the truth, but for that, you need to be ready to handle it, whatever it may be." The brunet softly squeezed his strong shoulder.

The greek nodded and closed his eyes. "I think it is better if we pause for a bit, maybe sculpt, it is rather suspicious of us to be here for an entire day. If that is alright with you Vladimir?"

"Alright."
