The eye contact between the two males extended for more than a minute.

Whilst the vivid eyes were wide in surprise and had distrust in them, the milkier ones, belonging to Euthymius, radiated pride in waves thicker than the ones found on the sea.

The blond brought a hand to his face, letting it rest next to his mouth, in case he had to hide his laugh."Plagiarism is a crime, prinţ. Be careful, the Volturi is not the only force of authority in the world."

Instead of being offended, the taller male was only amused by this comment. "Is that so? Then perhaps I should watch out for Interpol, thank you for informing me."  The dark haired male turned his back to the male and was beginning to walk away when the other grabbed his arm, the tall male felt faint shocks traveling in his arm and he knew that if there hadn't been any sleeve in his arm, that shock wouldn't be only in there but one that would extend for all his body.

"Well, you were lying, weren't you?"  He asked with squinted eyes, allowing his hand drop from his arm.

"I wasn't, however, I won't force anyone to believe in something they don't."

At this, Vladimir raised an eyebrow, watching as he walked away, along with this, his lips lifted briefly.

A blonde girl and a brown haired boy sat across from a black haired man, who was staring intently into their eyes with no fear. The set of twins wasn't used to people who weren't afraid of looking them in the eyes (aside from the kings).

"Jane, Alec about your latest mission...." She slightly straightened her back, whilst her brother lifted his head."I have a few questions." Euthymius took out papers from his desk. "Do you mind explaining what this means?"

He showed them the papers, watching as they tried to make out the handwriting, their eyes showed no sign of emotion.

The boy looked at the older male. "It means we offered the offender a chance to join our guard." The man glanced at him dead in the eye.

"I suspected that was the literal meaning, Alec. Thank you." Sighing, he tried to make himself clear. "What I meant was: whose orders were you following, by offering them a place in my guard without my permission or supervision?"

A flinch came from the boy. "It was an order from Master Caius, he specifically told us to offer it." Jane informed.

"And don't you two think you should have told me?"

The twins shared a look before looking at the older guard

"Caius!" Euthymius ran after the blond male, who after hearing the other calling his name, stopped on his tracks.

The two males, at first sight looked like clones, both sharing the constant blank face.

Caius acknowledged the other with a nod, not even releasing a word.

"Would you mind if I speak with you?" The Head of the Guard asked the king.

Empty halls enveloped them, the blond noticed. However, a sort of hard atmosphere formed between the two and filled the hall quickly, like water entering a building during a flood."You're doing so, already Euthymius."

"Regarding the mission with Jane and Alec, I would like to know why you ordered them to offer a criminal, a place in my guard without even planning on asking or telling me about it." The black haired male went straight to the point.

Caius looked at the other straight in the eyes. "I do not have the obligation of sharing every single order I make with you." He acted cold towards the other.

Euthymius squinted his eyes. "I agree with your statement, however you are obligated to share informations that involve my guard, Caius. I am in my position for a reason, you ought to look after my advices on such topics ."

"You are in your position because we put you in it. In which position do you think you are in to speak against a King?" The blond found himself shouting at the other. "The guard is yours as much as it is ours."

It took all of Euthymius will not to jump into a physical fight, anger flooding all of his system. "I am not speaking against you, my King." He dropped the last word with spite."I was simply asking for an explanation, which, mind you, I deserve. It isn't my fault that you refuse to clear things out and yell at me instead."

"How dare a mere guard demand or question my reason and wiseness?"

A laugh erupted from Euthymius, making the all mighty attitude of Caius to falter a bit. "A mere guard, you say?" The corners of his mouth fell after he said this." How amusing, Caius. Have you forgotten who was also a mere guard before? Oh, I would love to remind you, I surely remember the time a mere guard begged me and my brother to give him a chance of becoming king." He advanced towards the blond. "My, my how the millenniums pass by..."

Gulping slightly, the blond went back. "Is this what the Romanians told you to say?"Somehow the atmosphere got even denser, the male regretting his actions.

"Was that the only response you could come up with?" His eyes matched the colour of his hair. "I had high expectations for you."  The blond could sense the double meaning present on this sentence. Euthymius turned preparing to leave.

He heard Caius scoff and mutter. "A mere guard who can't even realize anything." This words almost made him stop but he didn't, feeling the other glaring at him. Something clicked inside of him as he walked faster down the hall, entering his office.

He walked in, the words playing once again in his head, he was completely sure  that it had something to do with the death of his sister.

Euthymius had found a loose thread in a seemingly well established tapestry, and he was more than willing to pull it out.

Caius knew something, and he would figure out what it was, whatever might be the cost.

He was going to figure out what truly happened with Didyime that day.
