The sound of laughter coming from downstairs woke you from your slumber. You realized that morning had arrived when you opened your eyes to find the golden rays of the sun shining into them. You gazed at the clock on the wall and saw that it was a little after ten in the morning.

As much as you dreaded getting out of the warm bed so soon, you quickly realized that Selena was no longer beside you.

Just as you sat up against the pillows, you heard the laughter once more. This time around, her laughter was a little louder than the others. Your heart fluttered at the infectious sound and you decided to get out of bed to go see what was going on.

Quickly, you brushed your teeth before making your way down the stairs. The creak of the stairs under your step caused Selena's head to turn, as well as her friends that were gathered around the sofa and the chairs in the living room.

Her eyes lit up as you made your way to her.

"Good morning, baby." She smiled.

"Good morning." You yawned and went to sit on the floor.

"No, baby. You don't have to sit on the floor."

You looked at her in confusion.

"I can move, y/n. If you want to sit next to Selena. I'd understand. It's not a big deal." One of her friends explained, only for you to reject the offer.

"It's okay. Y/N has a place to sit." Selena explained and patted her lap for you to sit down on.

Your cheeks turned red and you shyly shook your head.

"Sel," you shyly spoke, playfully and gently hitting her thigh, causing her friends to giggle.

"What? No one is gonna care."

You lowered your head as they all nodded in agreement. But you still didn't sit down on her lap. You still thought about sitting on the floor, because sitting on Selena's lap in front of her friends isn't something you've ever done before and the thought makes you shy away a little.

But before you got the chance to take a seat on the hardwood floor, Selena was pulling you onto her lap. She tightened her arms around you so you couldn't easily escape from her grip and quickly peppered kisses along your shoulder, causing you to squirm and giggle in her arms.

"See? Everything's fine. Don't be shy, cutie. You're okay." She smiled and kissed your cheek lingeringly, happy to hold you tight there for as long as you wanted.
