The sound of the FaceTime request coming from your phone caused both you and Selena to turn away from the film you were watching.

You saw the name on the screen before awkwardly shifting and putting it back down on the cushion with the screen down, so she couldn't see who was calling you.

"You're not gonna answer that?" She asked and you shook your head.

"No, it's nothing." You said before looking back at the tv screen, hoping she'd drop the subject.

But lying to Selena is hard to pull off. She's your twin sister and she knows you like the back of your hand. You're practically best friends, so she knows when you're lying and when you're being genuinely honest with her.

She dropped the subject regardless, deciding to not ruin the first sleepover that you've been able to have together for the first time in a while. She stared back at the tv but jumped when your phone began to ring.

"Is that nothing again?" She teased and you tried to come up with a good enough excuse to leave the room to answer the call as she stared you down with a smile, teasing you in good fun.

"Oh, uh, actually it's kinda important. I'll be right back."

You went upstairs, taking them one by one even though your feet wanted to carry you so much faster. You answered the call but you didn't say a word until you were in your bedroom.

You closed the door almost all the way and sat on your bed before speaking.

"Hello? Y/N? Baby? Are you there?" Your girlfriend asked and once you knew it was safe for you to speak without Selena catching you talking to her, you answered.

"Hey, Taylor. Sorry. Selena's downstairs, so I couldn't talk until I knew she couldn't hear me."

She sighed sadly. Just like you, she hated hiding your relationship from your sister. But you're worried she won't accept your relationship. Her sister and her best friend dating isn't exactly something she'd expect.

"I hate hiding it from her."

"I know. Me too." You mumbled. "But one day we'll tell her."

"Yeah. So, if you're curious, I'm sitting on my couch curled up with the cats missing you. What are you doing tonight?" She asked as you chuckled over the phone.

"I miss you too. I'll come cuddle with you and the cats again tomorrow night."

She hummed in agreement, already excited over it. You couldn't see her face but you could tell she had that big beautiful smile on it and your heart melted at the thought.

"We're just watching some movies."

"Anything good? I could use some recommendations." She chuckled and you were just about to answer when you suddenly heard Selena calling out for you.

"Y/N?"

She was getting close. She was obviously on her way up the stairs. You pulled your phone away from your ear and saw that you've been on the phone with Taylor for almost ten minutes. She was probably curious as to what you were up to.

"Be right there!" You yelled back to her and then put the phone back against your ear with a sigh.

You were completely unaware of her approaching your room. But she heard you mention a familiar name, so she froze just outside your door.

"I'm sorry, Taylor. I gotta go."

"Okay, darling. I understand. You have fun tonight and I'll talk with you in the morning. I miss you."

"I miss you too, Tay." You giggled and hung up then closed your eyes, squealing with happiness.

You swear you're just falling even more in love with her every day.

You got up and opened the door. You almost jumped out of your skin when you saw Selena standing there, waiting for you.

"Oh, gosh. Selena! Don't do that."

She didn't say a word. Instead, she folded her arms over her chest and stared at you like she was disappointed for some reason.

"What?"

"What do you mean 'what'? I heard you."

You stared down at your feet for a moment before looking back up at her.

"How much did you hear?"

"Enough to make me suspect that you're more than friends with my best friend." She answered and tilted her head at you, waiting for a confession.

You walked back into your bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed. She joined you, sitting right beside you. She stared at you intensely, waiting for you to answer.

"That's because we are." You said as you finally got the courage to look back at her. "I'm dating Taylor."

"And how long has this been going on for?"

"Almost six months?"

"What!?" She yelled, to which you winced.

"Please don't be mad, Selena. I swear that we didn't go this long without telling you to hurt you in any way. We just worried that you wouldn't approve. We really love each other and I worried that you might not be happy about us being a couple and you might distance yourself from Taylor."

She sighed and put her hand over yours.

"Y/N, you're my sister, and Taylor is my best friend in the entire world. It's new to me. I didn't expect it. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't approve. At the end of the day, all I could ever want is for the both of you to be happy. If you make each other happy, how could I ever be against that?"

"I'm sorry." You said and she quickly put her arms around you to bring you in for a hug.

"Don't be. I'm happy for you, both of you."

She caught a glimpse of your lock screen as a text from Taylor came through. She noticed that it was a photo of Taylor that you took on one of your first dates.

She looked at you and saw a look of love and a look of utter happiness in your eyes and it made any worries she had fade away.

"You're in love?"

"So in love. I've never felt this way about anyone before. I really love her."

"And she loves you?"

"She tells me every single day." You grinned.

"Good. I'm happy to hear that."

And she didn't complain at all when you decided to FaceTim Taylor.

You told her how Selena found out and Selena promised her that it didn't change their friendship at all and that she was truly happy for the both of you.

It was a big relief for the both of you and it was obvious to Selena that the both of you hadn't ever been so in love or so happy before, and that was all that mattered to her.
