Waking up to an empty bed in the middle of the night isn't something you like.

You've always worried when Selena isn't there beside you to hold you close in the middle of the night.

Not to mention, since you found out that you're pregnant just a few weeks ago, she doesn't want to let you go.

So when you felt the cold sheets instead of her warm embrace, you started to worry.

You pushed the blankets away and went to stand up, only to feel lightheaded when you stood. You sat back down as squeezed your eyes shut, hoping the feeling of the room spinning would pass soon and you could go see where Selena was.

You tried to stand back up a moment later. You didn't feel like you were going to faint this time, so you took a few steps and called out for Selena.

"Selena? Where are you?" You yelled and heard rushed footsteps on the stairs just before you reached the doorway.

Selena stood there, a little breathless since she rushed to you as fast as she could.

"Hey, baby. Why are you awake?"

"I woke up and you weren't here so I got worried." You explained and then, as soon as the words left your lips, you started to feel dizzy again. You swayed a little and Selena was right by your side as soon as she noticed.

"What's wrong? What is it?"

"I'm dizzy." You mumbled and Selena sat you at the foot of the bed, only for you to fall forward in her arms as everything went black and you went unconscious.

She gently laid you on the bedroom floor as tears filled her eyes. She was terrified, so many different worried thoughts rushed through her brain all at once.

"Y/N? Wake up! Please, baby, please." She pleaded, her mind instantly jumping to the worst-case scenario, the worst of worries that involved you and the little human inside you made tears fall down her face.

You weren't waking up and you needed help, so she could for an ambulance.

She stroked your cheek as she waited for them to show up. They arrived quickly and when they couldn't get you to wake up, they decided to rush you to the hospital.

Selena was by your side the entire time. Her hand was wrapped in yours, her heart was in her throat. Tears continued to stream down her cheeks, the only words falling from her lips were pleas to the universe for you and the baby to be okay.

You're only nine weeks along, but the little human you made together has her heart already.

She's been by your side through it all.

She's held your hair back when you vomited and then held you as you grumbled about how much you despise whoever called it morning sickness when it happens to strike at any and every hour of the day.

She's gotten you all the things you've needed for your cravings, like pickles and ice cream, which she was happy to eat with you... just not at the same time, like you craved on occasion.

She was right there when you saw your baby for the first time, who was just the size of a grain of rice, yet somehow the most perfect thing she'd ever seen in all her life.

She's been right there through the ups and the downs of your mood swings and all of the other slightly unpleasant things you've experienced so far.

Now, she fears this may be the end. That the little life you've been hoping and desperately waited to create together was already gone.

She watched as you were rushed in. She paced the room as she waited for results. Thankfully, it didn't take long for you to wake up. Just a few minutes after you were wheeled in and the IV was in, your eyes opened.

"Sel?" You mumbled and she quickly took your hand into hers.

"Hey, baby. How do you feel? Are you okay?"

"Yeah. I feel a little better now."

"Good. Because you passed out and scared the hell out of me."

You chuckled and watched her smile through her tears.

"The baby is okay?" You asked nervously and the doctor, who had just appeared in the room, responded before Selena had the chance.

"Perfectly fine. Your baby is growing just as they should be. They look perfect so far."

You both breathed out sighs of relief.

"Why'd she pass out? Are there things we need to be worried about?"

"Not really, no. It's common. Your hormones are rising and that causes your blood vessels to relax and widen. So, it's nothing I haven't seen before. If it happens again, bring her right back. I don't think you need to worry about a thing though. You and your baby are perfectly fine."

Selena brought your hand to her lips to kiss it softly.

"I love you so much. Both of you." She said and pecked your lips lovingly, making you smile against them. "Don't scare me like that again."

"I'll try my hardest not to."

She chuckled and brushed a lock of hair behind your ear, looking from your eyes and down to your stomach again and again.

She'd never been more thankful or more relieved than she felt in that moment; to know that you and the baby, the two most important things in her life, were just fine made her feel more grateful than ever before.
