"You're useless, Finn!" Rachel huffs as she chucks a stack of clothes onto her bed and running her hand through her hair.
"What do you want me to say? You look great in all of them, Rachel." Finn defends himself as he leaned back on the desk chair.
"Don't say that! I need to know which one suits a date." She replies back as she scans over the selection that littered her bed.
"Well, Tina does love black clothing. So maybe a simple black dress will do" Finn contemplates, and Rachel nods as she narrows down her choices. "Go simple for the first date. That perfect balance between well dressed but casual." He adds and Rachel nods again, her hand reaching for a dress and yanking it from the pile before walking into her en suite bathroom.
Rachel comes out a few minutes later as she spins around with a big smile. "I think this is the one."
"Can't deny that, Rachel. You look amazing." Finn smiles sweetly as he pushes himself up. "Look, I gotta go. I promised Quinn wed spend the night together."
"No worries. Thanks for the help." She responds with her own smile as she leads him out of the house.
"Who was that?" Leroy asks as he peers into the hallway from the kitchen.
"A friend from school. He was helping me pick our a dress for a date." Rachel answers honestly. She didn't see the point lying to her dad, he'd find out somehow.
"Oh, whose the lucky man?" He teases as he brings himself fully into the hallway, a big daft grin on his face.
"The lucky girl is called Tina" Rachel corrects, and Her father's expression changes to a surprised one.
"Oh, Honey. I had no idea." He tells her and she shrugs.
"I'm figuring it out Dad. I'm not sure about it all yet." Rachel tells him and he nods, walking over and wrapping Rachel in a warm embrace.
"Well, I'm happy you felt comfortable enough to tell me." Leroy tells her as he plants a soft kiss on he forehead.
"Thanks, dad." She smiles as she lets her fathers embrace fill her with warmth and love.

An hour later, Rachel heard a car horn honk from outside. Suddenly she felt an overwhelming feel of anxiety flood through her at the sound. She was really doing this, wasn't she? She was going on a date, with a girl. What was she meant to do? Is there some of rules she should know about. She thought about googling it, but then she thought against it. She did not want to see what the internet had with lesbians, as she thought it wouldn't be the most useful thing.
"Honey, your date is here!" Leroy calls through the house. Rachel took a deep breath as she looked in the mirror, smoothed her dress and grabbed her bag.
"Enjoy yourself, Rachel." Leroy says as he plants a quick kiss on her cheek before she went for the door. Rachel smiles and nods as she pulls it open.
"Don't wait up!" She calls before pulling the door shut, and seeing Tina's face illuminated slightly from her phone. Rachel took another deep breath before walking over and opening the door.
"Woah, you look beautiful, Rachel." Tina smiles sweetly, causing Rachel to feel her cheek heat up as she climbs into the car. She took Tina in, who looked incredible herself. She wore a black blouse with a red and black tartan skirt.
"So do you, Tina" Rachel responds as she fastened her seatbelt. She felt a small pressure on her hand, and she looks over to see Tina's hand resting in hers.
"If at any point you feel uncomfortable with all this. Just tell me, okay? I get it might take some getting use too" Tina tells her, and Rachel felt a smile form on her face.
