Chapter 2

Tess's POV

It's been a week since I saw Blake at church. It's now Wednesday which means I have to go back to church again tonight. I'm so scared to see Blake again.

I get to church and see my best friend Maddy, I go up to her and start talking to her.

"Hey, are you okay? You kinda disappeared last week. Blake even came up to me asking where you were. I didn't know obviously so I told him. He seemed so upset that we couldn't find you." she said

" Well, I doubt he was. He was probably just trying to act like he actually cared otherwise people would get suspicious of the fact that we don't talk anymore." I responded

"What?? You guys aren't talking anymore? Why? What did you do?" she asked

"What did I do? Why do you assume that it was me that did something?" I snapped

"Hey I'm sorry but you always tend to overthink things so I just assumed that you thought too much about something and just ghosted him." she said

"I may overthink but he's the one who ghosted me." I said

"I don't really believe that he would do that, I mean dude he's like in love with you." she said

"Ok well if you don't believe me then go ask him. Plus he's not in love with me, if anything he hates me. Whatever I'm leaving." I said walking away

"Tess wait-" she said

"No, I'm leaving. Bye Mads." I said right as I was leaving the church.

Blake's POV

It's been a week since I've seen Tess and I can't wait to see her again tonight. Once I pull into the church I head inside. I start looking for Tess and when I don't see her I try to find her friend Maddy, I find Maddy and walk up to her.

"Hey, Maddy have you seen Tess?" I ask

"She was just here and then she left when I mentioned you." she said

"What you mean when you mentioned me?" I asked confusedly

"I said that you guys are probably not talking anymore because she tends to overthink a lot and that's probably what made her ghost you. Her overthinking something like usual." she said which confused me

"You mean you don't know what happened? First, I was the one that ghosted her. And two, it's been months, why hasn't she told you?"

"Shit. It was you that ghosted her? Well, damn it. I have to go find her. What do you mean it's been months? I just found out tonight that you guys weren't talking anymore." she said sadly

"I ghosted her in October. I'll go with you to find her." I said while walking out of the church with her

"Shit. You ghosted her in October? The month of her birthday? Really Blake. I thought you were better than that." she told me

"Oh no I completely forgot that her birthday is in October. I just got sick of her spamming me all the time."

"Blake...she "spams" you because she likes talking to you and you were one of the only people that she trusted to talk to about things. Half the things she told you back then she probably hasn't even told me." she said

"Wait.. so you don't know that she has anorexic and bulimic thoughts?" I ask

"I actually just found that out last month. I wouldn't even know about it if her parents weren't so worried that she was slowly killing herself." she said angrily

"She actually started doing it? I thought that she was just doing that to get me to answer or just to possibly get literally anyone's attention." I said very concernedly

"Wow, Blake. She was right. You really are a dumbass." she said as we pulled into Tess's driveway

We both ran up to the door and started pounding on it. After a few minutes of no answer we decided to try and open the door. It opened on the first try which made us both look at each other with concern. We walked into the house and started to look for Tess. I went upstairs while Maddy stayed downstairs to look for her. As I went upstairs I heard the water running so I started walking towards it. It was coming from Tess's bathroom. I opened the door to her bathroom and what I saw made me freeze in shock.
