Konoha's pleasant surprise.

~Chapter 6~

• Dinner

After everyone got ready to go, they all agreed that they were going to meet at Shikamaru's house for dinner after they get the children into some more comfortable clothes. They all went off into pairs, with their children. Neji was carrying Akari who was exhausted from all the running she did at the playground, while Tenten pushed the empty stroller . They walked along side Naruto and Hinata, who were also headed to the Hyuga compound. Once they arrived, Hanabi ran outside to see the kids that she her father told her were coming, before he left for a meeting. She awed as she saw all the sleepy children. One fighting to stay awake, Boruto, the other two dead asleep. Hinata led Naruto inside, and Neji did the same fore Tenten. Boruto was changed into a a white shirt and orange shorts and hima into a cute yellow onsie. Naruto watched the two sleeping children as Hinata left the room to get ready. Neji picked out a purple dress for Akari. Then he changed into some comfortable clothes while Tenten watched Akari. Instead of going straight home to change Inojin, Ino mad Sai stop with her to go pick out matching outfits for the three of them at the store. Rock Lee went home with Metal and puts him into a mini suit of what he is wearing. Once Sasuke and Sakura got to Sasuke's house, Itachi was at the door to greet them, ready to meet his niece. Itach grabbed the bag of clothes from Sasuke and said he would get Sarada ready. Sakura followed Sasuke to his room where he gave her a shirt and some pants, and told her that she should change so she could be comfortable when they get to Shikamarus house. Choji goes to the store and gets Chocho a cute skirt and a shirt. As Shikamaru and Temari are walking to Shikamaru's house, Temari looks over at Shikamaru to find him staring at her "What's wrong with you, crybaby" she says with a grin. "He has your eyes, ya know?" Shikamaru said with a smile. "Yeah and he has the rest of your face" Temari said laughing. They eventually made it to the Nara compound. Shikamaru took out the key and opened the front door. "I'm home" he announced as he took off his shoes and then took Shikadai so that Temari could do the same. While Temari was still taking off her shoes, Yoshino walks out of the living room, where she and Shikaku were sitting down. "Welcome home" she says not seeing the child in Shikamaru's arm's. "Temari! Nice to see you again." She says walking towards her for a hug, before she spots Shikadai who was half asleep on Shikamaru. "Who's this?" She says confused. "Well we are not sure about the details, but lady Tsunade summoned us early this morning, and told us that this is our son from the future, and that we have to take care of him until she figures out how he got here, and how to get him back." Shikamaru said in a lazy tone. "Shikaku! Come here" Yoshino yells with a big smile on her face. " Look at how cute our grandson is" she says reaching out to hold his hand as he sleeps. When Shikaku walks in he greets his son and Temari, then looks at the sleeping child. "who's-" he was cut off "i'll explain it to you later. But look how cute our grandbaby is! Well i'm not really surprised, just look at his mom!" Yoshino states and Shikaku nods with a really confused look on his face. "Thank you" Temari says with a smile. "Mom is it okay if my friends come over tonight for dinner? I'll cook." Shikamaru says as he rocks back and forth slightly with the sleeping child. " As long as you don't make a mess." Yoshino states as both her and Shikaku leave the room and head upstairs to get ready for bed. "Well that went pretty smooth" Temari states. Once they get to Shikamaru's room, Shikamaru places Shikadai on the bed gently. He then starts looking through the bag with baby clothes that Shizune gave them, to find Shikadai something to wear. He picks out a longs sleeve dark green sweatshirt with black sweatpants, then shows it to Temari who approves. " You can go in my closet and pick out something more comfortable to wear if you want" Shikamaru said as he started trying to get the child dressed without waking him up. "Okay" Temari says with a slight blush spreading across her face. She picks out one of Shikamaru's white shirts and sweatpants that were both pretty big on her. Shikamaru told her where the bathroom was so that she could shower. Once Shikamaru got done dressing the baby, he redid the baby's mini pineapple hairstyle. Temari eventually got out the bathroom all dressed in Shikamaru's oversized clothes, which made Shikamaru blush a little when he saw her. Shikamaru then started to go get ready too. By the time Shikamaru was done Shikadai was awake playing with Temari while sitting with her on the bed. They all headed downstairs, and Shikamaru put on some cartoons for Shikadai. Shikamaru and Temari both headed to the kitchen to start cooking while still keeping a close eye on Shikadai. While they were cooking and having a light conversation, they heard a knock at the door. Shikamaru opened and it was Ino with Sai and Inojin, and they were all matching wearing sailor outfits. "Well you guys must have put a lot of effort into your outfits" Shikamaru said as he let them in. As they let them in everyone hears a thud. Temari went running to the living room to see Shikadai with tears in his eyes on the floor. Temari picked up Shikadai who was now crying. Shikamaru came running in, questioning what happened. After him followed Ino and Sai. "I think he tripped on the carpet" Temari said smuggling the crying baby " Do you think he is hurt!?" Shikamaru said worried. "Guys calm down, he just slipped he is alright. Baby's fall all the time." Ino giggled at the way Temari and Shikamaru looked so worried. 'Wow this whole temporary parenting thing is changing them' Ino thought to herself.When Temari put Shikadai down so they could examine him, Shikamaru and Temari realized he was okay. They all headed back to the kitchen, this time with Shikadai in hand. As they got back to the kitchen they heard another know on the door. They opened and saw Neji, Tenten, Naruto and Hinata who also had their kids with them. "Hey guys!" Naruto shouted to everyone. They all greeted each other Hinata and Tenten went in the living room to play with the kids. Everyone else was in the kitchen helping finish the meal . So enough everyone else arrived. They all helped finish the food. Once the food was done, they all sat the table and ate.
