Konoha's pleasant surprise.

~Chapter 16~

   "Maybe you guys should stay back with the kids. It might be dangerous." Adult Sasuke speaks turning towards the group of teens who were following behind.

  "We're strong too." Sasuke states, with a straight face. "What makes you think we can't handle whatever is up ahead and you can."

  "Gosh. Was I really that stubborn?" Adult Sasuke face palms himself.

  "You still are." Sakura jokes.

  "It's not that you guys can't handle it, it's that we wouldn't want to risk bringing you and the children and something happens since we can't really focus on the obstacle in front of us." Adult Hinata puts his statement into better words.

  Everyone ends up agreeing so the teens and kids make there way through the crowd of panicking villagers, while the adults continue towards the headquarters.

As they run back into the barbecue grill, the ground stops shaking. They look out the window and everything is still, completely back to normal like it never even happened.

The villagers go from panicked to confused in seconds as they look around. Searching for what could have caused that.

Spotting absolutely nothing, they go in with their day, thinking it was a small earthquake. Besides a few small trees falling, not much damage was done.

"So what do we do now?" Tenten asks, holding the hand of a confused Akari.

"I don't know. I guess we wait for them to come back for us." Shikamaru suggest.

"Papa." Sarada says letting go of Sakura and reaching out for Sasuke. From the little time the teens have spent with each other, Sasuke and Sarada have grown a close bond.

Well it's only natural since they are father and daughter anyway.

"We shouldn't just sit and wait here! What if something happens to them." Naruto exclaims worriedly.

"I think they'll be fine. Everything has seemed to calm down. Anyways, they are the smarter and stronger versions of us, so what would us going out to help them do anyways." Shikamaru says taking a seat and placing Shikadai on his lap.

"Shika is right. They'll be back after the speak with lady Tsunade." Ino back him up.

As time passed, everyone was growing more and more worried in why the adults have not returned yet, but putting aside their thought, they had to keep the kids happy.

  Naruto played pikaboo with Hima, Hinata and Ino were watched Boruto and Inojin play, Shikamaru and Sasuke were talking while Sarada and Shikadai tuned into there conversation, Metal was watching Lee dance, and Choji ate alongside Cho cho.

"Tenten?" Neji speaks, looking to the side, seeing her rocking Akari to sleep. She didn't even turn to look at him and just continued rocking.

  Even though Neji is worried about the whole situation they are all in right now, he still hasn't been able ti get that argument between Tenten and him off his mind.

  In his head it wasn't really a big deal since they bicker and argues all the time, but she hasn't been talking to him and has been giving him a really hard time.

  "Look, im sorry for upsetting you. I really didn't mean it. I was just... I don't know. Excited..." he explains. "I should have known better to not give her desert before eating her real food.

  "That's not why i'm mad you know." Tenten answers still not turning her head.

  "What?? Then why are you mad?"

  "I don't t even know why im mad if im being honest. I just dint like the way things have been a little different between us since we found out we are gonna... you know... like have a whole child together" she gestures to the half asleep toddler who she was rocking back and forth.

  "What do you mean?"

  "I don't know, its just been like more awkward. Almost like we are forcing the connection between us." she explains.

  "I get what you mean." he speaks. "How about we just take it slow and let the whole falling for each other thing happen on its own."

  "Thanks for being so understanding Neji." she smiles squeezing his hand that was resting in the table.

  After about an hour of waiting, the adults all finally came back. As the teens inside saw them approaching the door they met them there."

  "So what's wrong?? What happend?" Ino asks worriedly.

  All there faces go from worried to confused as they see the adults look care free.

  "Lady Tsunade said it was most probably nothing and that it was just a small earth quake." adult Sakura explains.

  "She said probably? So there is a chance that it wasn't an earth wake and something really is going in out there? And we are just all going to sit here and do nothing?" Naruto questions in a loud tone.

  "Do not worry yourself. Everything is fine." Adult Lee says giving a thumbs up.
