Your every cognitive thought forced you to stay, knowing the fate that would come if you tried to run. But every waking inch of your body accompanied by every instinct you had inside of you told you to run, as fast and as far as you could hope to make it to try and escape these legendary fighters.
The war between your body and your mind kept you stuck in place, not listening or processing the conversations happening around you. Eventually, defying your protesting thoughts, your instinct got the better of you and you ran for the backdoor. Yells and sounds of chase began behind you.
You tore for the outdoors, slamming open the door to your backyard. It was fenced, but to many years of sneaking out when the nights grew violent or boring taught you how to climb it. You just needed time.
Unfortunately, that was the one think you lacked.
You were pulled to the ground, landing harshly on the grass. It scratched against your soft skin, while you thrashed away from the grasp of whoever held you down. A figure stood above you. He had jet black hair, a bandana tied on his forehead, and a fire emblem on his shirt. He matched the description of who you presumed to be Sapnap.
He glared down at you, but smirked when your eyes met his once you had given up thrashing.
"Nice try." He said, before he pulled you up from the ground by your wrist and dragged you back inside. You arms hurt from how rough he pulled you up from the ground, the soreness spreading through your senses.
"L-look, I-" You attempted to explain yourself, but the glare he gave you warned you to keep quiet.
"That will be all Ma'am. I hope you're satisfied with the payment." The tallest said. he wore a green hoodie and a white mask adorned with an eerie smile scribbled onto the surface with ink. That had to be Dream.
Your mother nodded, a friendly smile on her face. You stared at her with your jaw dropped, still restrained by Sapnap's grip. It would be useless to attempt to wriggle out of his grasp at this point, but you kept struggling anyways, almost too aware of your new reality.
"Thank you. I hope you find some use in them." Your mom said, a slight bitterness hanging in her voice.
"Mom!" You protested, eyes wide. You bit on your lip to hold back the obscenities you wished to speak, but the rage on your face was unmistakable.
"Thanks for the support." The third man said. he had dark brown hair and wore large white sunglasses that practically covered his entire face. He wore a blue shirt with a red 404 decal and had a noticable cut on his elbow. That had to be Georgenotfound, the final member of the Dream Team you could recognize.
The two turned to leave, and Sapnap began dragging you out of your home. You had to attempt to run now, or you would be gone forever, taken from your home with no one to know your fate. You had no idea what your future could hold, but you knew you had to escape.
You kicked Sapnap in the knee, causing him to double over and let out a pained groan. With his grip weakened for a half second, you tried to wriggle free, nearly succeeding, if not for his last second reaction, gripping your fingers and pulling you back in reflex.
"I am so fucked." You thought, nervously smiling at the man as he stared at you. You could not make out the emotions held in his eyes, which only terrified you more. You thought he would kick you, or hurt you ten times worse than you had him or something terrible, but he just grinned and tightened his grip to a painful extent.
Two horses were leashed in the front of the house, connected to a fence pole that hadn't existed on the property before. You let out a sigh.
This was it. It was the end for you. After you had lost your fight, woefully disadvantaged and disheartened, you had no idea what was to come.
Sapnap and Dream exchanged a glance (although Dream was wearing a mask, so they couldn't glance at each other? You had no clue how it was meant to work.) and Sapnap handed your arm to Dream, who yanked your wrist forward.
Sapnap and Georgenotfound got on a horse together, while Dream tossed you onto the front of a white horse and hopped onto the back, pulling the reigns past you.
"Goodbye." You mumbled, bidding your final adieu to your village. You had no idea how long the trip would be, no one in the village had ever left more than a few acres from the area and returned, much less seen one of the places of those brave enough to abandon village life.
After a resounding two minutes of silent galloping, getting closer and closer the village border, you let out a sigh.
"What do you want with me?" You asked the man behind you.
"There's war. We need fighters." Dream said, his focus still on the journey.
You bit on your lip. War wasn't as bad as you were expecting, but it wasn't something you had even thought of. Why would they fight each other? And, against who?
"What in Notch's name makes you think I'd ever fight for you?" You spat, looking up at the man who towered over you.
The smile on his mask stayed still for a moment, before it looked down at you. It grew seemingly more eerie every moment.
"I'll have Sapnap burn down your village. I would fear his affinity for fire, y/n."
Your eyes widened in shock. The severity of your situation finally hit you, weighing you down like the man who held the sky. Every move you made not only effected your life and your future, but everyone else's. Every friend you ever made and every merchant you ever spoke to would die if you didn't make your choices very carefully
"Goddamn psychopath." You muttered under your breath. "Who the hell are you even fighting?"
"A few traitors. They call themselves L'Manburg." He said, annoyed.
"You must be real scared of them if you're recruiting villagers." You teased.
"We're outnumbered. Nothing more to it."
You nodded. "Sure..."
You had heard of L'Manburg before, nothing more than whispers and rumors, however. Apparently, Dream was a tyrant to them. A group came from a different land, hearing about the figurative gold mine that the DreamSmp was. But then a leader by the name of... William? Wilbur? Ash, maybe? He came to the land and started a revolution.
Good on him.
