Dream was known as a 'speedrunner,' a term used for someone who was skilled in battle and more efficient than anyone else, which set him apart from everyone else. He was more skilled than anyone you had heard of, and became more of a myth, an urban legend, than a man.

Georgenotfound didn't have any traits that particularly set him apart from the rest. He was a jack of all trades, a builder, a fighter, a speedrunner, but the thing that kept him close to the top was his charisma. Something about him was so likeable to everyone else, or so you had heard. He was a man adored by even his enemies in every sense.

Sapnap was a bit different. He was known to be violent, a man always ready to fight and cause chaos. He chose violence. His reputation was bloodied by the corpses of pets belonging to his enemies and friends alike, and every page of his book was charred by the fires he started. He never built, he only destroyed.

And there you were, on the back of a horse belonging to the three scariest people you had ever interacted with, on your way to meet many more.

The trio brought you to a desert, where a pool of lava and a broken obsidian structure lay. You were confused once more, another surprise added to your day. They dismounted the horses, only confusing you more. Why would they stop at a broken obsidian structure.

"Get down."

George stood at the neck of the horse, running nimble fingers through it's mane. He was the one who had given you the command. It was only now when you noticed his strange accent.

"Why did we stop here?" You asked, slow to dismount the animal.

"Ever been to the Nether?"

Your eyes widened. The tales you had heard of the Nether were nothing but a description of hell, with terrible creatures and oceans of lava throughout the realm.

You shook your head. "Are you trying to kill me?"

George laughed. "We're just iceboating back. It's much faster."

You bit your lip, drawing blood in your mouth. You quickly swallowed it, not wishing to savor any such taste.

"I'll give you some armor, we're equipping anyways." George said. He was a lot kinder than the others.

He set down a crafting table and quickly made a set of iron armor, and then handed it to you . You struggled with equipping it, much more used to worn leather armor that you borrowed every now and then for the times when you took on dangerous jobs, like gathering potion materials for the alchemist, which paid extravagantly but was a dangerous task.

You couldn't believe your eyes when you saw him and the others put on a shining purple armor. It seemed to have a wave of protective light over it, one that scared you.

"I- Is that netherite?" You asked George, eyes wide.

Villagers like yourself had a system. No one was allowed to become too powerful if they lived in the borders of a village. Iron armor was the most luxurious you could get, for the most part reserved for wealthy merchants who had an in with a blacksmith. Diamonds were almost never found, and when they were they were reserved for trading to help the starving. Only alchemists and nobles were allowed in the Nether, and without halfway decent armor, almost none decided to venture the journey.

This was all so new to you. It was like an exchange of freedoms. new uncharted territory with new unattainable resources. It was unbelievable.

"Yeah. I forgot how strict villages were. If you survive the war, you'll like life out here."

The 'if' in his sentence struck you. You wouldn't survive. You had almost no fighting experience and even then you were probably put on the front lines to die by some elaborate trap or being shot in the head by skilled archers.

"Yeah." You said, your voice hoarse. "Maybe."

George frowned, before turning to Sapnap and Dream.

"Hurry up! We're ready!" Sapnap yelled. They both looked annoyed.

"You can boat with me." George said, giving you a small smile.

The obsidian now had a beautiful purple glow in the center, a portal to what you could only assume to be the Nether realm.

Sapnap grabbed George's wrist and threw him in. Nothing was more terrifying than watching his body disappear, all that was left was vapor to show he had gone.

Sapnap ran in next, laughing at the prank he pulled on George. You turned to Dream.

"Have you ever been to the Nether?" Dream asked. You shook your head. "Well, have fun."

The man shoved you into the portal, and you felt yourself disappear, a sense of nausea building up inside as you became everything and nothing all at once.

A small scream escaped your mouth, as your lips and tongue dried up. The moisture in your eyes all but disappeared, a little bit left, protected by the helmet. The floor of the Nether was blood red, and it was boiling hot. You felt as if you were about to melt.

You stood up, shocked. You looked at Sapnap and George, who were on a cliff near the portal. You walked to them, your movements slow and careful as you saw the random fires and tiny streams of lava and magma. It was horrifying.

You found yourself at the edge of the cliff, seeing an ocean of lava below, and terribly burnt creatures above it. A breath hitched in the back of your throat when you tried to gasp, your lungs full of uncomfortably warm air.

"What the fuck." You said.

Sapnap looked at you, smiling. "This is what I'm talking about! Look at all this fire!"

You took a cautious step back, bumping into someone. It was Dream. He looked down at you.

"Watch where you're going." He groaned. "C'mon guys! The sooner we get back, the better. I don't trust Punz that much by himself."

The group nodded and began walking away, to the other side of the cliff. The sights that you kept seeing just surprised you even more. Gold littered the entire realm, riches beyond your wildest dreams. Gold served as currency, despite it's uselessness, in the villages. And it was just here, all over the place, peeking out of the ground. No wonder why only the few richest were allowed in this place. It helped the rich get richer.

Eventually, the group reached a bridge. But instead of solid flooring, it was fence and packed ice, over the sea of lava.

"Are we meant to fucking cross that?" You asked.

The group nodded, seeming unfazed. You simply gawked at them, jaw dropped once more.

"You've got to be fucking kidding me."
