(Chapter twelve: Now You See Me)

"And finally, our last act of the evening is... Nick Horton!" The announcer announced, causing whistles to erupt. All of our group, except for Nick himself and stupid Mike, was sitting waiting to see Nick's act.

He ran out onto the stage, doing that 'I can't hear you!' motion where you bring your hand to your ear. The crowd ate it up. Nick pulled out a mic and waited for the cheering to die down. It took some time.

"Hello, Ladies and gentlemen, specifically a certain lady out there somewhere named Jordan, are you ready?" Everyone screamed yes, to which he nodded and smiled.

"Okay, I'm glad to hear that you're ready. I've got a great show for you tonight, so let's get going!" Nick worked the crowd like a shepherd would his sheep, molding them like play-dough in his hands. He was born for this, you could tell. He simply looked as if he knew of nothing but performing, and he just owned the stage. His act was long but entertaining, and his finish spectacular.

"Well, I'm sorry to tell you I have to go." The whole audience booed.

"I know, I know, it's tragic. But I promise, no matter what happens, I won't stop performing. Now you see me, now you don't!" As he yelled that last bit, glitter exploded from every direction. Everyone was applauding loudly, and only when the glitter had settled to the floor did we all realize he was gone.

We all congratulated Nick on his great perfomance, before heading back to our rooms to sleep. I was exhausted, so I couldn't complain. So much for Nate's party.
