{Chapter Five: Just Follow Me}

"I know, right? So many things to be good and bad at. What are you worst at?" I asked, laying on my back, head hanging off the bed, looking over at Jay.

"Writing, probably. I suck at it. What about you?"

"Dancing. One hundred percent. A lot of my friends joke that it should be illegal for me to dance anywhere within the contiguous United states..." I trailed off, realizing I'd made a huge mistake. Jay was a dancer. I'd just told a dancer about how much of a klutz I was. I could feel my face heating up.

Jay grabbed me by the wrist, and I let him lead me. I had no idea where we were headed, but I went with him because I was so embarrassed about what I'd said, that I didn't trust myself to speak long enough to even tell him I didn't want to go.

Besides, that wouldn't have been the complete truth. He was fun to be around, so I wanted to be around him, and I wanted to know where he wanted me to go.

After he dragged me down the halls, past the stage, the recording studio, and many hotel rooms, we came to a room marked 400. He pulled me through the door and then let go of me. I'll admit that as soon as he did, I was a bit disappointed.

But I didn't have much time to dwell on my disappointment, because it only took a moment for me to realize that he'd brought me to the dance studio. My face was bright red, I'm sure.

"Jay, I just told you that I can't da-"

"Don't. Nope. I'm gonna teach you. Obviously you aren't going to learn in a day, but we have loads of free time here, so I'll teach you. Just follow me."

I blushed even brighter as he turned on 'Take Care', and I thought about making a run for it.

He bounced around, switching feet, making it all look easy. And I stood awkwardly behind as he did a beast Hiphop routine.

When the last beat of the song pounded out, he spun around to look at me. He could instantly see how lost I was, and seemed sympathetic, instead of frustrated, which wasn't something I'd ever seen when people attempted to teach me to dance.

"Here, let's take it slow." He said, smiling gently.

We spent the whole morning and start of the afternoon practicing a slower dance to 'Give Your Heart a Break', Jay always letting me know when I did a move right, and praising me for it. I felt like, with his help, I might just be able to dance.
