Ch.10 {Cavalry Battle}

She puts her hand up, a board drops down and starts to shuffle again. "Next up, Cavalry battle!" the neon sign reads. "The participants will form teams of 2 to 4 people as they see fit. In theory it's basically the same as a regular playground game. But there is one difference, each player has been assigned a point value based on the result from the obstacle course." Midnight explained. So a point based system like the entrance exam huh? My thoughts were cut off by Uraraka, "So that means each team will have a different point value based on the students that are on it." Uraraka stated, "Aha! That makes sense." I did a little finger gun towards Uraraka. But before she could respond, I sweat dropped as I heard Midnight yell, "MAYBE YOU SHOULD SHUT UP AND LET ME EXPLAIN THINGS TO YOU!"

"Now, the points will go up by increments of 5. Starting from the bottom. For instance the forty second place is worth 5 points and forty first is worth 10. And the points value assigned to the first place contestant is....10 million!" Upon hearing that, I saw the green haired male went pale, feeling everyone in that arena turn on him. Everyone was staring at Midoriya with a competitive glare, I saw Midriya's eyes widened. This means that everyone would be aiming for the top. I had to admit though, I'm kind of tempted to earn those points. Poor Midoriya seems about to faint due to everyone's intense stare. Midnight continued explaining while everyone was itching to partner up with anyone but Midoriya and win those ten million. "It's survival of the fittest, with a chance for those at the bottom to overthrow the top! The game itself will last 15 minutes, individual point values will be added together to reach your team total, everyone will know how much you're worth thanks to your headbands. Swipe as many headbands as you can to raise your team's score. Stolen headbands must be worn from the neck up. So the more you steal, the harder it'll be for you to manage them. And another thing, even if your headband gets stolen or your team falls down, you can keep playing until time's up!" So, it's anyone's game now. I was deep in thoughts for a strategy, scanning around for possible teammates.

I guess I have three main options, Kacchan, Midoriya or Todoroki, since I figured it's best to stick with our class knowing their quirks. Kacchan's aggressive fighting style might not be the best, besides I remembered what happened with the hero training. I was watching him and Midoriya's fight. Things tend to get personal, he can be very self-centered. Might not be the best to team up with him. Then for Todoroki, he's definitely the most capable student in the class. But I hardly know anything about him- My thoughts were cut off by Midnight. "Now you've got 15 minutes to build your teams, I recommend you get started!" What caught me off guard was the feeling of someone patting my shoulder. I whipped my head around to see Midoriya. "L/N.." His face flushed red, "Do you want to be part of my team?" I flashed a smile, "Of course!" His eyes widened, obviously not expecting the answer but smiled back appreciatively. 

I looked around. "No one else wants to be on our team?" I asked. "Everyone's going to be after us and my ten million points." Midoriya frowned. "Don't worry Deku! We'll find someone." My eyes wandered around for potential teammates when I saw everyone surrounding Kacchan. That's for sure... But then my glaze fell on Kirishima beside him. "Kirishima!" I yelled and he turned to see me. "Wait, are you with Kacchan?" I tilted my head to the side a little. Kirishima chuckled a bit and scratched the back of his neck. "Yeah... sorry. Though, I'm sure Bakugou wouldn't mind you being on his team." He said, hoping I'd join them. I shook my head, "Nah sorry, I'm staying with Deku. So, I guess you're not a choice." I swore I saw him blushed a little, but shook it off anyways. We need to find some more people.

Then I spotted Uraraka in the crowd. "Uraraka! Wanna team up with us?" I gestured for her to come to us and she did. "Sure!" Midoriya's eyes lit up, "You're not kidding right? Are you sure? Everyone will be after my stupid ten million points." "If we run away the whole time, we can win, right? Plus! It's better to team up with people you like!" Uraraka answered and I smiled a little. "Great so we need one more person!" Midoriya seemed to be in deep thought until he walked off to someone. Huh? Tokoyami?! Hmm, smart choice. I smiled and Midoriya told us his plans.
