Ch.18 {Internships}

"I couldn't think of anything else, so I thought of using my quirk name, elemental." (In Japanese) The silence of the classroom was scary until Midnight spoke up. "Excellent! Nothing's wrong with using your quirk name for your hero name! Great idea!" I let out a sigh of relief and walked back to my seat. "Aw man! I thought the 'Queen of Elements' was a better name for you!" Kaminari pouted, I laughed, "Thanks Pikachu, but I think I'll stick with Erementaru for now."

"Now that everyone has decided on their hero names, we can go back to talking about your upcoming internships. It lasts for one week, as for who you'll be working with, those of you who are on the board will choose among your offers. Everyone one else will have a different list, you have a lot to think about. There are around 40 agencies across the country who've agreed to take on interns from your class. Each agency has a different specialty that its heroes focus on. Keep that in mind." "Yes sir!" I groaned as I got my packet. It's not that I'm not excited or anything, it just hurts my head thinking about the amount of offers I have to read through. We only had 2 days to decide and it's going to take me forever to look through all the names and find one. 

"I wanna fight crime and bad guys in a big city." I heard Kirishima say beside me as he looked at his offers. "I just hope I can enter someplace where there's a lot of flooding, maybe a lake." Tsu tapped her chin. I started to flip through my packet as well, skimming through the papers searching for one of the top ten heroes. I turned around to Midoriya, "Hey Deku! Who's on your list?" He was just sitting there muttering different specialties of each agency. I laughed, Typical Midoriya. "Huh? Oh sorry! What did you say, Y/N?" He gave me an apologizing smile and Uraraka jumped up to us, "Don't worry Deku, it'll all work out! I've settled on my pick!" I turned to Uraraka, "Really? Already? Which agency?" Uraraka threw a punch in the air, "The one that the battle hero, Gunhead runs!" I tilted my head, "Huh, interesting choice! I thought you were trying to be a hero kinda like Thirteen!" Midoriya nodded, agreeing with me. "I thought so too." "Ultimately that's the plan! But I've been thinking ever since the festival, the stronger I am, the more possibilities I'll have! Plus learning from a battle hero will give me a different perspective! Right?"

I kept my eyes back on the paper, "Yeah totally! A good hero should be able to do multiple things! I need to work on my physical strength and learn to fully control my quirk." A name suddenly jumped at me, surprised, I shot up from my seat so fast that my chair fell over. "Whoa! Endeavour, Hawks and Kamui Woods sent me an offer!" I exclaimed in disbelief, three of the top ten heroes took an interest in me?! "That's so cool Y/N!" Midoriya beamed and I chuckled. "Guess I already have my top three!" I grabbed my things and walked out to the halls while waving goodbye. "I'll leave first now, I've got to think about my top choices!"

Alright let's start sorting out what I need to improve on... my element quirk is already really powerful but a huge flaw is that I'm still not able to have full control yet. If I took it too far, I could easily lose control of it and possibly accidentally kill someone... or even myself if it's the case. So, I'll have to improve my stamina. I ran out of energy easily during the festival because I didn't want to take the risk, especially on the wind element. I guess I used it the most and it's quite useful, I wanted to improve on it the most. Taking All Might's advice, I also can't forget my combat skills. Honestly I would say Hawks might be a good choice, he can perhaps help me with my wind manipulation too, and I think he's generally a nice guy to be around with. He is also ranked quite high so I wouldn't mind. Obviously there's also Endeavour, who ranked higher, although I doubt he's the one to help me with anything, I pretty much already mastered my fire, and if anything, he would accidentally push my stamina a bit too far at a time... So, it's settled. I'll make Hawks my first choice and Endeavour can be my second, and after that is Kamui Woods.

"Everyone has their costumes right? Remember you don't have permission to wear them in public yet, and don't lose them or anything." Aizawa informed us. "Gotcha!" Ashido shouted energetically. "Speak properly, it's yes sir, Ashido." "Yes sir..." Ashido frowned. "Make sure you mind your manners during your internships, now get to it." Aizawa dismissed the class and I spotted Iida. "Hey Iida! Is something wrong?" I caught up to him with Midoriya and Uraraka. "No, everything is fine." Iida replied without facing us. "We're friends right? You know you can tell us everything." I questioned further in a worried tone and Midoriya nodded beside me cheering him on. "I know, and I'm grateful for that..." Iida turned to us with an unnatural smile before walking away. I sighed and turned to face the two, "Well, where are you guys heading to?" Midoriya answered first, "I got an offer! So I'm heading to Yamanashi Prefecture." "That's awesome Deku! You already know where I'm heading, where are you heading to Y/N?" Uraraka questioned and I smiled. "I'm interning with Hawks and he informed me that he's having a meeting with Endeavour. So I'll meet him in Hosu city, which is also why at first I wanted to take a ride with Iida, but I guess not." Uraraka nodded sympathetically and I waved, "Well we better head to our internships now!"
