Fighting demons (Waterloo road)

Eighteen

Brooke had been released from the hospital. She had gone back to staying with Leigh as Rachel was still with Adam.

When she woke that morning, she saw Daisy sitting on her bed. She smiled. "My daddy asked me to tells you that nanny is here," she said.

Brooke nodded and sighed. She pulled her niece under the duvet and grinned. "You're so cute."

"Me know."

Brooke smiled as she climbed out of bed. She made her way downstairs. Rachel was sitting on the sofa with Leigh. Max lurking in the kitchen. "Hey. What's up?" She asked.

"Your mother and I don't get along. If it wasn't for Leigh, I wouldn't have her here. She isn't welcome here. But Leigh had her here for you."

Brooke nodded. She sighed. "Guess I should get in there."

"Good luck."

Brooke walked into the living room. Rachel smiled. "Hello love. How are you?" She asked.

"I'm fine. What do you want mum?"

Rachel sighed. She looked at her. "I came to see how you were. You're my daughter after all and I love you," she told her.

Brooke rolled her eyes. "If you loved me, then you wouldn't choose Adam over me. So you don't love me at all."

Tom wanted to see Brooke. He had text her and asked her to come see him. He was waiting in his car and smiled as she climbed in. "Hey. How are you?" He asked.

"I'm okay. My mum is there. So I told my sister and Max that I'm going to the shop. I just have to go back with chocolate. I'm not complaining though. I can just feed it Daisy."

Tom laughed. "You seem to care about her."

"She's my niece. And I don't want anything happening to her."

Tom smiled and nodded. He sighed. "I've been worried about you. Especially when Max told me you were in hospital," he told her.

Brooke grinned. "Didn't know you cared," she teased as she looked at him.

"Well I do. I care an awful lot about you. You're amazing. You know that?"

"Thanks."

Brooke couldn't stop thinking about Tom. He was all she had on her mind and she didn't know why. She wanted him and she couldn't help herself.

Leigh walked in and smiled. "Hey. Are you okay?" She asked as she looked at her.

Brooke nodded. She sighed. "Have you ever had a crush on someone you know you shouldn't?"

Leigh grinned. "I ended up pregnant by my crush. And I think it all turned out okay," she said as she looked at her.

Brooke smiled slightly. "I think I've fallen for someone I shouldn't have. And I'm scared," she told her sister.

"Wow. Okay. Who? Or shouldn't I ask?" She said.

Brooke smiled. "Don't ask. It's complicated so badly."

Leigh nodded. She took her hand. "Follow your heart babes. It's all you can do. Just follow your heart and I'm sure that you don't need me telling you," she said.

Brooke nodded. She knew that she and Tom had a long way to go before they could even establish what they had. But did they even have something? Or were Brooke's demons coming back to haunt her.
