Chapter: Prologue

"MY EGG!"
Hopeless heard the screams of fury breaking through the palace walls like wrecking balls, what in the three moons was going on? Hopeless stepped out of her nest, gently putting her blanket back. She cautiously sneaked over to her door and opened it slightly, loud, echoey whimpers and a cry could be heard from a room not far away.

The royal hatchery, Hopeless thought, but what would her mother be doing in the hatchery in the middle of the night, crying and whimpering?

Hopeless ran out on the carpeted floor out in the giant hallway, moonlight was falling through the hallway windows, making her scales glow like diamond river. She ran as fast as she could through the halls, paintings of her and her mother were scattered around the hallways, most of them just boring portraits of her and her mom and sometimes paintings of landscapes that Hopeless has never seen before.

Hopeless stopped beside a giant door, it was big enough to fit ten dragons, Hopeless swung the door open immediately, her eyes widening as she saw her mother curled in one of the egg nests, crying uncontrollably. Hopeless had never felt so much pain and sadness before, she had never seen her mother in this condition.

Her mother stopped crying as she heard the door swing open, she jumped up from the nest and bared her teeth in a threat, thinking it might have been someone else. "Its just me, mother" her mothers blue eyes widened and went back to a sorrow expression, "Im sorry.. it's just that-" her mother stopped, she seemed like she had a clump stuck in her throat, keeping her from saying what had happened.

"Its just that what?" Hopeless stood there awkwardly, staring at her mother, waiting for an answer. "One of your sisters-" Oh no, no no no, please don't tell me what i think you're about to tell me oh for the sake of the moons please.. "One of your sisters.. has been stolen.." Hopeless' eyes widened as she started to feel guilty and sorrow, she felt like she could drown the world in her tears.

"How did she.." Hopeless was starting to get the same clump in the throat as her mother did before, "i do not know, someone must have sneaked into the palace but.." "That's impossible" Hopeless finished her mother sentence, she knew this wouldn't be something she would get over fast, maybe not even at all.

Hopeless wanted to tear and rip the world apart trying to find her sisters kidnapper, who knows what the kidnapper would do if she had powers? Hopeless couldn't let that slide through, if she could just put her talons on that dragon, they would be in the execution dungeon by now.

"Your sister is lost forever... i'm sorry Hopeless...she could have done so much if she was still here..."
"Not if i find her."
"How?"

The plot will build up so y'all can realize whats going on, no need to worry, i wont spoil too much of the plot.
