WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE DIRECTOR AND WHY?

steven spielberg! i was introduced to his films when i must've been about four or five years old. the first spielberg film i saw was E.T. because my dad had bought the DVD (we still own it) around that time. my mom and dad both saw E.T. as kids and wanted to pass that onto me. i loved E.T. from the moment i saw it, then i saw indiana jones right after. i saw war horse, lincoln, ready player one, and saving private ryan (20th anniversary re release) in theaters, and those were some of the greatest experiences of my life. i've always adored spielberg because of his ability to have a range of films and not stick to a certain type of genre. his work ethic is still incredible and he just doesn't give up. spielberg is the main reason i want to go into filmmaking. he's been my inspiration since i was a little girl and i've always looked up to him. steven is such an inspiration to many young filmmakers today and he's so kind and generous and a wonderful human being. that's what makes him my favorite director.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP FIVE FAVORITE FILMS?

the matrix, raiders of the lost ark, casino royale, back to the future, and the fugitive.

WHICH FILM GENRES ARE YOUR FAVORITE AND WHY?

science fiction and espionage are my favorite genres. ever since i was young, i have been around science fiction films because of star wars, the matrix, etc. i also love the M:I and jason bourne movies!

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE COMPOSER AND WHY?

john williams! i have been around star wars for almost eleven years, and i'm very familiar with his work for the nine films. i also enjoy his music in jurassic park, jaws, E.T., and catch me if you can.

WHICH ACTOR (ALIVE OR DECEASED) INSPIRED YOU THE MOST AND WHY?

robin williams. i remember watching good will hunting for the first time two or three years ago, and i was mesmerized by his performance. robin's character in that film taught me that even though it may seem like they won't be people that care for you, there will always be that one person who will love you. his character in good will hunting also taught me that we won't ever be the most perfect people. there will always be struggles in our life, but there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel.

WHICH ACTRESS (ALIVE OR DECEASED) IS YOUR FAVORITE AND WHY?

emma stone. she's a girl boss, what can i say? i love her in la la land and she has such a down to earth personality, too.

WHICH OSCARS AWARDS MOMENT WAS YOUR FAVORITE AND WHY?

okay, i wasn't alive for this one, but when steven spielberg won best director for schindler's list. spielberg's directing for that movie was SO powerful and he made sure everything seemed super realistic. schindler's list is one of those films that just hits you because you understand what the jews went through during the holocaust. an absolutely deserved win.

WHICH MOVIE, ACTOR, OR ACTRESS DO YOU THINK WAS ROBBED OF CERTAIN A NOMINATION FOR THE OSCARS AND WHY?

i think that 2001: a space odyssey should've been nominated for best cinematography. the lighting in that film was so cool, especially the mixtures of red, blue, and white. the matrix also should've been nominated for best cinematography and best picture. i also think that christian bale was robbed of a best actor nomination and matt damon was robbed of a best supporting actor nomination for ford v ferrari, both did excellent in that film.

WHICH OSCARS WIN DO YOU THINK WASN'T THE RIGHT WIN?

shakespeare in love winning best picture. SAVING PRIVATE RYAN WAS RIGHT THERE!! shakespeare in love does not compare to saving private ryan, let alone the thin red line as well. that was the worst best picture win next to green book.
