TENET... one of the most anticipated films of 2020.
christopher nolan has officially returned to the directors chair and is ready to release a movie after three years.
butttt, there's an issue.
the fuckin coronavirus.
this film was originally supposed to come out yesterday, and then got delayed indefinitely, and then got a new release date.
the europe release will be on the 26th, the asia release will be on the 24th, and the united states/canada release will be on september 3rd.
i'm just gonna state my opinion.
i don't think TENET should get a theater release. why? most theaters in the united states haven't opened back up yet.
i don't think it would be fair to those in states that don't have open theaters at all. some of the theaters that have opened up already are going to show the movie, and honestly, that might not be fair.
not just that, but spoilers can easily make it onto social media. those in europe (not saying they will) could end up spoiling the film for those in the united states and canada.
personally, i don't think a theater release date would be fair. i think the film might be better off going on streaming services like HBO and amazon prime, or maybe on paperview for the people that have DirecTV.
i don't know, that's just my take. obviously everyone has different opinions.
