Tiger on the Inside

I am just too different from you.

I know, you say that everytime, that I may look different,

but we are all the same in spirit.

I know you say that, but that is not true.

My brothers do not like me because I am a human,

and I do not like myself because I am not a tiger.

I know, Mom. I should stay. But I cannot.

I am sorry, but I need to live with humans.

Mom, do not cry. I promise I will always think of you.

No, they will not hurt you. I will make sure of it. I will ask them not to.

You say they will not listen to me? That they will kill you anyway?

Then go. Go far away and be safe.

My brothers, I did not know you were there. You will never leave me?

You say you will stay by my side? Does this mean you accept me as your sister?

Then I will stay with you. I may be different, but I am glad I am accepted.

Mom, my brothers, I am glad you love me for who I am on the inside.

I know I am a tiger.
