A wide river gobbles
Everything in its path
Like the greed of humans,
It never stops wanting
The river recedes from the shores,
To reveal only lost of what once was
The want of humans stops at nothing,
Like a mighty river that knows no end
Whether it be gold, money, or love
Or the sweet songs of harmonious music
The ugly truth to humanity is lust
Of shiny jewelry or bright red sports cars
Or the silky smooth sweetness of Dove chocolates
The girls want the sweet smelling flowers
And the boys will want a hangout full of cigarette smoke
Soft silky hair that flows below the waist,
And a rough, scratchy beard so they can be "ghetto"
This river of so-called need is endless;
It will never stop flowing down the wrong path
And towards the ocean of emptiness of the lonely soul
For once the humans get their desire,
They are forever alone in their own greed
