Chapter 17

POV: Rose

A week later

"Rose, darling it's not your time. You need to return" I squint to see the glowing woman who comes towards me through the blinding light. The light has been my only company for...for however long I've been here.

Although it is a little lonely, I've never felt this way before...so peaceful, and I like it. When I finally processed her words, I start to panic.

I've been so good, I can't live with Michael anymore, I just can't.

She wouldn't make me go back and suffer even more, would she?

I cry for the first time in weeks, but when the tears come out of my eyes, they burn like fire- like Heavenly Fire. I scream out in agony, and then stop as I realize I actually made a sound.

Where did that come from?

I feel gentle, but strong, hands tilt my chin up.When I open my eyes, I gasp at the women. The women is beautiful. She has long straight golden blonde hair that fell past her hips in a thick braid.
She had a long white dress like the one that I was wearing, except her's hugged her curvy feminine figure. She had light gold eyes, looking into them I felt instantly calm and safe, something I've never felt before. She had light brown marks all over her skin, instead of the wicked and scary feeling tattoos always gave off, these gave off a warm, strong, and protective feeling. I noticed one that stood out amongst all the other ones, it was a wolf that was made with curves and swirls. The symbol seemed to draw me in and I couldn't seem to pull my eyes from the image.

This was my first time meeting her and she radiated light and happiness, even her voice was soft and musical. And the thought of leaving the only person that made me feel this way, made me depressed.

"Why can I talk? Who are you? Why can't I just stay here? Why would you make me go back to Michael?" I started to tear up again.

"Do not cry child, you are strong. You are stronger than all of them, and soon you will realize this. Your past will ensure you a good future. They need you, my child. You need to protect them from themselves and from what is to come. This is not real, you can do whatever it is you wish, but I cannot heal you more than I have, you must mend yourself."

"Who is them? Who are you?"

"You will find out who I am soon enough. But it is not me that is important, it is you. They are the ones that have rescued you. One is very strong, powerful, dark, possessive and rather stubborn, but he will love you for who you are. The other, he will risk his life for you, he will understand you, he will love you, he will worship you, and he will protect you from the bad things in your life. He is your torch in a dark cave.

"It will not be an easy journey ahead for you. You must learn the things I had to, and go through things worse than I had to, but it will be worth it. You must trust these men, and open your closed heart to everyone around you. This will be difficult for you, but you will do it when the time comes." When she finished, I just sit there mouth agape as I try to process what she has said.

The more I try to focus on her on her words she becomes more blurry and hard to understand, but before her entire figure goes I hear her last words: "Good luck, my child"

And that's the last thing I heard before I was snatched out of the heavenly light and thrown into the painful darkness.

POV: Damien

"Gather the Warriors, we will be attacking at dusk" I growl at my Gamma, Andy, he's in charge of training the pack.

"Yes, Alpha" he bows his head in respect and leaves my office. I have been on edge, more so than always, because of her. My mate. When I took her to the pack doctor, he was surprised she was still breathing because she had lost so much blood. The thought of her like that makes me growl dangerously out loud.

Maybe this is how the Moon Goddess has decided to punish me, by giving me the one thing in the world I've always wanted and then watch it crush me when she takes it away. My anger flares at the thought of my past.

I shake my head and get up from my large chair.

How is she? I ask Skylar, the pack doctor

Still asleep, Alpha. He answers immediately. Her test came back and it is not good. Alpha, if she wakes up I will need to keep her here for few days. I'm going to try to add more vitamins and nutrients to her IV and see if that will help her body heal itself. No disrespect, sir, but may I remind you that she is human and they tend to heal much slower than us. I will update you if her status changes.

With that I put my wall back up blocking him off. On the edge of the forest I see the Warriors starting to line up as Andy goes over our last minute game plans.

"-run in fast and furious-" Andy spoke but I quickly interrupted him
"Stealth and speed are going to be your two bestfriends. No one is to leave that pack alive. Not a man. Not a woman. Not a child. Do you understand?"

I hear a chorus of 'yes, alpha' from all of my warriors. I quickly strip off my clothes, and tie my pants around my ankle and shift, allowing my wolf to take over. I try and focus on other matters, but my wolf's constant whines for our mate happen to be very distracting.

Let's go. I mind-link the Warriors.

By the time we reach the small area this pack owns, the sun had finally feel asleep and allowed the moon to take Her place. Their village is small, peaceful...and weak. This is why I must destroy it, only the strongest survive.

These are the times when I feel most alive. The rush I get from hearing the mothers screams as their kids get murdered in front of them. This is what I live for.

This is why everyone is terrified of me. And they have every right to be. No one knows which pack I'll take next. I know I won't be satisfied until I have it all. And I will soon, but for now...

Let the games begin. I mind-link my pack. And soon the peaceful night is filled with cries of pain and agony, howls of loss and sorrow, and shouts of victory and triumph when it's all over.
