Chapter 2

POV: Damien

'Don't go! Please! HELP ME!' The voice screamed as I jolted awake.

That voice. That was the voice that haunted my nightmares. That was the voice that caused my lack of sleep for months now. I can't stop them. Sleeping pills? Been there. Warm baths? Done that. Just plain exhaustion? Tried it.

I've done everything...but the imagine still remains imprinted in my memory. As if it was there as a reminder or sign of something.
'Do you know what it is?' I ask my wolf
'Yes' He answers bluntly.
'Feel free to share...'
'You will find out soon enough.'
'Damn wolf.' Then he shuts himself out, furthermore ending any of my further questions.

I jump up out of bed and trudge my way over to the bathroom to take a quick shower. I turn the hot water on and welcome the feeling of the drops as they scorch my skin. I let melodic rhythm of the rain draw my mind back to my dream- or rather my nightmare.

The voice replays in my head, her constant please for help. All I can make out from her blurry figure is her eyes. And those are what bother me the most, the eyes, a bright mossy green that have the ability to light up the dark aura that surrounds her, but instead are filled to the brink with pain and isolation . She's always screaming for me, but everything I take a step towards her she moves two steps back. 'HELP!' She continues to scream but...help from what?

"DAMIEN!" I hear my beta, Jakob, yell from the other side of the bathroom door. I quickly turn off the water, not realizing how hot it really was until I opened the shower door into a bathroom filled with steam.

I quickly dry off and slip on a pair of shorts and walk back into my bedroom to see Jakob laying back on my unmade bed and snoring annoyingly loud. "God bless his mate" I laugh to myself.

'Hey, Amber?' I ask through the mind-link.
'Yes, Alpha?' She says mockingly.
'Come here, and bring a bowl of hot water with you' I say mischievously.

Not five minutes later my sister bounces into my room in all her blonde-haired-pig-tailed-seven-year-old glory. I maybe be an asshole to everyone in the world but even I have to admit, I have a small soft spot for my little sister.

"Bring me the water" I whisper to her quietly so I won't wake Jakob up. She brings the bowl of water to me. I lift one of his hands and gently put it in the warm water.
"1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8" I count aloud as Amber muffles her girly giggles with her hand. As I start to see the wet spot in his shorts I couldn't hold back my laughter anymore.
"Huh?" Jakob asks as he gets up, then he looks down "HOLY CRAP!!!! DAMIEN I THOUGHT WE AGREED YOU WOULDN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!" By the end out his angry outburst both Amber and I were rolling on the floor with laughter.

Once I sober up I remember that he had something important to tell me, "Thank you, Amber. You are free to leave, tell Sonya I will not be attending breakfast this morning." I say kindly as Amber walks downstairs to eat. I turn back to Jakob all my earlier silliness now replaced by seriousness.

"What was so important that couldn't wait?" I say coldly.
"Someone has bought land right by our pack boarder and I thought that we should check it out for any threats" Jakob says as he changes into a pair of my basketball shorts.
"We will go later today. Right now I need to go down to the dungeons and deal with the Rouges that walked on our territory yesterday." I turned around and walked down the stairs as Jakob quickly followed behind me.
