Chapter Five: Pain

POV Mama Midoryia's

Month Five

She had to get up and make Izuku's Birthday cake, but she didn't have the strength nor the stamina to do it. Her body was aching so much these days.

Inko felt like death wore over most days but she got up and did as much as she could do for her little boy.

Her little green bean.

Who had never left her side, she decided to take Izuku out of school and have him do online schooling  because he just didn't want to leave her side.

Neither did Katsuki but he still went to school and did his best but his grades were falling and he was being bullied so they also put him in online schooling.

Both boys trained their quirks in the backyard. Unfortunately for Izuku's quirk wasn't a physical one like Katsuki's was so he often sported bruising from their sparring.

They were growing up so fast.

She coughed and swore softly when blood came up.

This wasn't good. She rang up her doctor and told him about the blood and he said to expect that, saying that Basically her lungs were struggling and it was common. Not to fret.  It wasn't easy to not fret over the sight of blood coming from her coughs, but whatever.

She hung up with the doctor and smiled at the thought of the mystery man that kept showing up whenever she had an appointment. It seemed stalkerish to others but to her it was a beautiful thing to see him every other week.

He was a mystery but he seemed familiar somehow. She didn't ask why he was there and he didn't seem to not want to know why she was there either.

So they kept to themselves and talked about the current events, heroes and such so she could talk to Izuku afterwards about it. He loved hearing about the hero world.

Wanting to be a hero himself so she indulged him with his dreams and found books, videos, anything that could help him achieve it.

She didn't know his name though, but he knew hers, one day as she was leaving, he stopped her.

"Inko, would you like to have dinner with me one day?" His eyes were bright blue and seemed to shine with stars inside them, she nodded and blushed.

"Yes, I would like that, one day." She grimaced at the pain of her breasts but kept a smile on her face, the man saw right through it and frowned.

"Are you okay?" He asked and she sighed before nodding again and made her way out of the office hallway.

"I'll see you next time I'm in, won't I?" She murmured softly at the man who nodded.

"Two weeks and three days from now, I know I seem like a stalker but I just assume that's when you have your appointment also. The doctors like to keep their patients appointments together, some odd thing about if you need support everyone can help." He shrugged looking sheepish and then walked away waving goodbye before vanishing.

She wished she knew his name.

Her thoughts drifted back to her cancer progression and it seemed that the paclitaxela wasn't working like it was supposed to.  The lumps were getting bigger and they found more on the other breast. The doctors told her if it got worse she may face surgery. She didn't want to be breast-less. The thought of never having another child and never being able to breastfeed was heartbreaking. She had to face the realities of that never happening.

"Mom! Mom! Aunt Mitsuki got me the cake you ordered! It's sooo Cool! It's an Eraserhead one! Thank you!" Izuku, ever the babbler continued with how awesome the underground hero was, how he and his husband were amazing together.

How Eraserhead was teaching U.A and Izuku wanted to go to that school, how Izuku was going to have a relationship with Kacchan one day, and the things he was saying.

Inko didn't have the heart to tell him that he didn't think Katsuki felt the same way but she wasn't going to assume anything.

"Whew, slow down Mr. Babbler!" Mitsuki giggled as she walked by the two and checked out Inko's IV drip and made sure to put the pain meds in the drip. It was yet again oxycodone. Unfortunately it only numbed some of the pain.

"I can't help it Aunt Mitsuki, me and Kacchan are gonna get married one day!" He excitedly babbled and they both froze and then the unspeakable happened.

Katsuki stood behind them all with a gaping mouth and shook his head before pinching his nose and sighed in defeat.

"Yeah old hag, me and Deku's gonna get married, got an issue with it? Kiss my ass."  he growled, and the parents looked in shock.

"Don't talk like that Mr. I'll have you eating vegetables all fucking day long if you cuss at me. " Mitsuki snarled back her red eyes in slits, daring Katsuki to say anything, he snorted and left the room.

"Happy Birthday Izuku! You're eight years old today! Older than Katsuki by two whole months" His aunt said in a whooping noise, wrinkling her nose at him. He smiled and blew out the candles.

Later that night he made a bird origami, and put a wish down for the jar.

Please let mom walk me down the aisle for me and Kacchan's wedding day.
