Chapter One: Symphony.
POV: Mama Midoryia.
Month One.
At one point in her life Inko thought that the terrible foul word would never come into her life. That it was a trick, because no one got cancer anymore. The humanity of people had been blessed with over fifty years of no cancer patients. If it was to be so then people did it quietly at a specialist doctor who still studied cancer and they're growth from society. They chemically could possibly cure the disease or so the public was told over fifty years ago. Those who had it would just fade away from existence. Or something she absolutely thought.
When the lumps in her breasts grew and hardened she knew something was wrong with them. She loved them dearly, they had provided the milk for her son, they had been there since she was a teenager. Her breasts were her signature of her body, in high school that was what she was known for. That's how she attracted her boyfriend who later became her husband.
A dreadful decision on her part when she learned he was an abusive asshole that loved to play villains in the dead of night and lock her and Izuku up in the closet with gags on them for hours on end.
Her breasts were everything to her. It's what made her, her. Female. Womanly. Perky.
She didn't tell anyone about the lumps. The pain of them strains it out on her body.
Months passed peacefully until she started getting terrible headaches that lasted for hours on end, with nose bleeds that weren't due to her quirk being activated. The tiredness that went to the bone. She started to sleep throughout the days on the couch not being able to sleep in her own clumpy bed. It was just too much painful cramping.
Finally decided to get over this fear, she contacted the Cancer Society Center to get tested. They told her that a Mammogram was in order, they picked a date that she agreed with and then went from there.
The Mammogram was a little painful, the pulling and jiggling just made her want to puke and pull away from the machine. After that appointment she went to see her normal doctor, who told her she was going to have to get yet another Mammogram. Dread filled her. Apparently there was an abnormality you don't see until you have the Mammogram.
Yet again she had the x-ray and they sent her to the doctor Mood Everstar, a tall Scottish man in his late thirties that had studied breast cancer and other cancerous types his whole life. His hair was a tall mowhawk that was colored rainbow that kept moving around his hair a lot. Apparently he could control emotions, an empath. He loved the color plaid and was often seen wearing the colors with pajamas pants. Unprofessional but he didn't seem to care. He was a good doctor.
"I'm sorry to say Miss Midoryia but it looks like a rare case of Breast cancer. In this day of age it's hard to get this type of sickness but five percent of people get cancer now days due to quirks, ever since quirks came around people have become more durable and less susceptible to diseases like this not many people know this information though." The Scottish doctor named Everstar took a breath and smiled sadly.
Inko Midoryia wasn't knowing what to say. She wanted to scream, cry, be in denial but she just smiled. Her green eyes bright with tears as they silently fell with the doom of the news.
"Thank you doctor, is there anything that you can do for this....cancer? That will make me and my son's life bearable?" Her lips were trembling with the last words. Her son. Her precious son. Her little green bean. What would she tell him? His father wasn't in their life. He was in jail for the abuse they endured from him for the first five years of izuku's life. She was all he had in life.
