Chapter Seven: Stand By Me
POV Inko & Guardian
It was him, the mystery man who had taken her life and turned it upside down.
But he was bald.
When did he become bald?
"Hey Inko." He said in a soft tone. He moved fully into view. Her heart sped up and she noticed he was wearing an All Might shirt four times bigger than his size. A black hat was in his left hand and in his right was a rose bouquet.
He walked over to her bedside and grabbed a chair by the wall and sat there.
They both didn't know what to say.
Too nervous, too embarrassed, emotional, take a pick. It was getting nerve racking to watch these two idiots run around the bushes.
She gently sat up a little more from her position, and hissed from the lightning of pain that streaked through her body from the adjustment.
"Why did you come? How did you find out?" She whispered brokenly. He huffed a breath and chuckled softly.
"I swear I'm not stalking you, I promise that much. It's just when you didn't come to your regular appointment I...became worried something happened." He muttered that last part to himself and ran his left hand over his head and sighed in defeat. This wasn't going to the plan.
He wanted to confess, she wanted to confess.
Why were they both so oblivious to it?
A burst into the door caused them both to snap their heads forward towards the sound.
Izuku and his friend Katsuki were both holding hands and laughing at something before they noticed the awkward silence of the two adults. Both decided to break it.
"Hey Skelton man do you have the C word too?!" Katsuki demanded in a tone that held the authority that the man had to answer or else.
Inko gasped in embarrassment.
Izuku looked bugged eyed at his friend and between the two and then the door.
Toshinori coughed a little blood spurting out of his mouth and they all freaked out, he just gestured to never mind it. He thought this was too hilarious.
A nurse came bustling through, she was average height and had brown hair with curves to go with her height. She had a tail and ears that were wriggling around in anxiety.
"Omgomg Miss I'm so sorry they came bursting in here. My name is Weeb, I'm the child care services around the hospital. They were right next to me in the cafeteria and I looked and they vanished. You two come with me." She snapped her fingers, her tail curling around her leg and the two children giggled and ran outside the door with the woman.
"Love you Mom."
" Love you aunty."
And it was back to silence.
The two adults looked at one another and bursted out laughing.
Too soon after the tension returned to the room it got too much for Toshinori and he decided to go for it.
"I'm in love with you, Inko Midoryia and I would love to take you on a date." Toshinori quickly blurted out heart pounding. Her eyes grew large then narrowed.
She hmphed, then laughed.
"Yes, mystery man, if I can get your name!" She kept chuckling Toshinori facepalm so hard and laughed with her.
"My name is Toshinori Yagi, you may also know me as All Might. I have stage two cancer."
Silence then a startled look and then,
"What!?"
