The school day ended and Xiao was able to leave the school. Hu Tao had come by to bring him home but he told her that he'll be staying with Venti for a while.

He followed Venti to where he stayed and to his surprise he staid in a little tent that he set up behind the tree in Windrise. Despite it being a very small living space Xiao found it quite comfortable inside.

"Yeah... I know it's not much but as a broke god what can you do?"

He laughed and it made Xiao smile. Venti was the only other person to make him smile. Ever since meeting Hu Tao and Qiqi, Xiao had smiled a lot more then he did in the past.

Although it was still the same tiny, little smile every time, the way Xiao felt around Venti was different. He couldn't describe it, but it felt different in some way.

"It's fine Venti, if it's comfy then I don't really mind"

Xiao sits behind the small pile of firewood and lights the fire. Resting near the warm flame as he quietly thought to himself

It was getting dark and Venti had been gone for an hour or so. Xiao wanted to make sure Venti wasn't too far away so he called out for him

"Venti!!"

"I'm here!!!"

Xiao heard his voice flow through the wind and he smiled a little. He was making some food for himself as well as Venti. Flying down to the camp, Venti smelt the food and his eyes sparkled

"Waah! It smells goooooddd!!"

Venti exclaimed as Xiao chuckled and set aside a portion for himself then another portion for Venti

"I'm not a great cook but I hope it doesn't taste too bad"

Xiao took the first bite and Venti began tasting his food. He happily finished everything and smiled at Xiao

"Thanks!! It was amazing"

"Hmm, I'm glad you liked it"

Venti lay down on the grass and stared up into the sky. Xiao finished her food as well and started cleaning up a little. After he was done, Venti signalled Xiao to come lay down beside him.

"Xiao come and look at the stars with me!"

He sat down and looked at the full moon, it was about time he journey to Liyue to start working. He took out his polearm and his mask.

The way Xiao suddenly got up startled Venti and he looked at Xiao walking away. This sight left Venti mentally unstable. He had seen this sight way too many times. The sight of someone he loves walking away from him.

"Xi-xiao..."

After hearing his name, he immediately rushed back to Venti. He was already crying and Xiao didn't know why.

"Hey... uhm... Venti?"

Venti launched himself onto Xiao, sobbing uncontrollably. The yaksha didn't know what to do. He quietly hugged Venti, listening to his cries that carried so much weight.

"D-don't le-leave..."

In between sniffles and tears, Xiao could hear Venti's pleas for him to stay. Stunned, he started to run his hand down Venti's back.

"It's alright... I won't leave..."

After a while of crying, Venti pulled away from Xiao. Looking into his lifeless amber eyes, Venti's bright green eyes were filled with tears. He wiped his remaining tears with his hand and stared at Xiao.
