"Xi-xiao...?!"

They both stared at each other for a bit before Venti shot up and his face turned bright pink.

"Venti look at me"

Venti turned to face Xiao and he looked as Xiao shifted closer to the other. Holding his chin with his hand, Xiao leaned in for a kiss.

Venti was surprised and he tried to get out of Xiao's grasp to ask a few questions. Xiao felt him squirming around and immediately let go

"Is something wrong?"

"I-I... Xiao what was tha-that...??"

Xiao chuckled and looked up at the sky

"I heard what you said to me you know..."

Venti covered his mouth and gasped. He quickly calmed down and brought up the courage to ask

"What did you hear exactly...?"

"Everything you said when we were alone. At the school's nursing room... in the tent... I know how you feel"

By now, Venti was a blushing, embarrassed mess. He's mind was all over the place and he didn't know what to say.

"Well... I hope you know my answer now?"

"Mhmm... I... I love you!"

Venti blurted out and Xiao laughed. Cupping his cheek, Xiao dove in for another kiss. Wrapping one arm around Venti's waist, the other hand cupping his cheek to deepen the soft kiss. After the kiss, they both stared into each other's eyes. Xiao smiled as Venti blushed

"I don't know if how I feel can be described as love... but I know that being with you... feels right..."

"Hehe... I didn't think you'd accept my feelings like that..."

Xiao sighed and put his head on Venti's lap again and closed his eyes

"Well since we're already at this point I'm just going to ask. Venti, would you be my boyfriend?"

"Of course I will!!"

The bard's bright happy smile led to Xiao smiling as well.

"Hey I think we should take this time now to find out more about each other... after all not like we have anything better to do"

"Ehe... sure"

With a sad smile, Venti started explaining the reasons behind his hyper-active persona. Xiao gave him a sympathetic look. Turns out that Venti was bullied for being "the quiet kid" back in his previous school.

They both spent the rest of the day laying down on the grass getting to know more about each other. Xiao learnt about Venti's true personality and in return, Venti learnt a bit about Xiao's past.

"Oh my goodness Xiao... I never knew you had such a rough past..."

"No need to feel sympathy for me. My trust issues have lived with me for basically my whole life. Being inslaved by a god for the first 500 years of my life, fighting in a war with unavoidable suffering for who knows how long... My life is just a mess. At least I have Zhongli, Hu Tao and Qiqi now"

"You also have me!! If you want to have me"

Venti did a cheeky smile and Xiao scoffed

"Hmph! Of course I want to have you..."

Staring up at the now starry sky, Venti put his head on Xiao's shoulder and smiled

"I never thought I'd have a chance with you, Hu Tao told me everything about you and I immediately knew you... I had kept you in reality and always away from the world of suffering. I did it because I cared for you and because when I first saw you... I immediately fell for you. I'm just happy that you feel the same about me..."

"Yeah... I uhm about that..."

"Hmm?"

Venti sat up and looked at Xiao, confused

"Is something wrong? You seem uneasy... are we escalating this too quickly?"

"No no it's not that! I'm just thinking... would everyone else accept this? I mean... wouldn't they find it weird for two complete opposites are suddenly dating after a week?"

"No silly... Don't mind anyone else, just be happy alright?"

Xiao nodded and he stood up

"I should go head to Liyue and scout around the whole area, I skipped all of this week and monsters are bound to be everywhere"

Venti quickly jumped up and covered Xiao's eyes with his hand from behind

"Venti...?"

"Don't worry about anything, I just want to spend tonight alone with you... relaxing and enjoying each other's company. Is that too much to ask from the Conqueror of Demons?"

Xiao let out a low chuckle and turned around

"Very well then, I'll stay with you."

Venti smiled and hugged Xiao, pushing his face into Xiao's shoulder

"You wanna go back to Windrise or stay here?"

His voice was muffled due to him stuffing his face into Xiao's shoulder but Xiao heard the question and slowly replied

"How about you stay with me from now on?"

The question caught Venti off guard so Xiao sighed

"Its alright if you don't want to, I just feel like it would be better for you to stay under a safe roof"

"I... uhmm..."

Xiao smiled and put his hand on Venti's head

"You don't have to decide now. But if you want, I can continue staying in Windrise with you."

Venti nodded and hugged Xiao tightly. He felt Xiao's hand brushing his hair, slowly unravelling his braids

"Please stay with me... at least until I might my decision about the whole moving thing."

"Of course, but it's getting dark and I see two people walking over. Lets head back and uh if you can...."

Xiao's voice faded and he paused his question for a bit. Venti stood infront of him, waiting for his question

"Uhm... could you play the Dihua Flute again? Your tunes are... ah, nevermind"

Venti started smirking and decided to tease him a little

"I'm sorry, do you not like the music I play? Would you like me to not play music for you anymore?"

Xiao groaned in annoyance as Venti's smile just grew bigger and bigger

"Your tunes are nice a-and I really like them..."

"Awwww look at you!! Such a shy little baby!!!"

"Hmph! L-lets just go back... I don't need those two mortals to see me..."

WELL I'm very sorry for not updating yesterday T-T
I was too busy catching up on missed math class work :')
I hope this chapter wasn't too bad, I was really distracted while writing it I think it's superrrr bad ^^'
