VERA'S POV
——
After I regained my ability to move I rolled off Dominic, having a view of the tightness of his pants.
"Can I?" I asked, flicking my eyes towards his bulge.
"No...not tonight. We're already are playing it close. Plus if you're reservations are at eight you should probably get ready." He rubbed my thigh gently before standing up. I watched him fix himself in his pants, before giving him a light smack on his ass as he left.
"Dork." I laughed right before the door closed.
———
"Why does this take so long." Blaine groaned, sitting on my bedroom floor against my bed. I rolled my eyes and continued doing my makeup at my vanity.
"Who's all gonna be there?" I asked after spritzing myself with setting spray. I had done some light face makeup, some neutral-toned eye shadow, eyeliner, mascara, and a simple light lip gloss.
"Just some guys from school. Nobody you would know." He mumbled, swiping across his phone.
"So we're going into the city?" I stood up, pulling my robe tighter around myself and going to my closet where the outfit I chose was hung.
"Mhm..." he answered without looking up. After a few moments, I cleared my throat. He looked up and I motioned towards my clothes. He nodded, standing up and heading out the door.
"Be downstairs in ten." He grumbled.
"I doubt it will take me ten minutes to get dressed." I laughed.
"Well knowing you and Kara it probably would take twenty." He closed the door, I could hear him descend down the stairs.
I pulled on a short leather skirt, a matching tube top, finishing it off with a yellow button-up that I rolled to my elbows and black heeled boots. I shoved my phone and emergency makeup kit into my handbag before heading downstairs.
I met both men downstairs, unlike Blaine, Dominic's eyes took in my exposed body.
"Absolutely not." He stated sternly not even letting me get to the last step. "Change, now. Why would you even think that was appropriate for dinner?!" Was he jealous or was he playing the parental role?
Blaine sent me a weird look before understanding I had lied to Dominic about our plans.
"I'm not changing, Dominic." I laughed out, pushing a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
"Yes, Vera, you are." He planted himself between me and Blaine.
"It's just dinner, Dom. It's not like she'll be exposed to the world." Blaine said, resting his hand on Dominic's shoulder.
"No, but she's still exposed. You're her brother, you should be agreeing with me." Dominic's eyes still weren't meeting mine, just looking over my body.
"I'm sorry to have to play this card Dom...but you are just our sister's boyfriend. How much say do you really get?" I held back a laugh, seeing Dominics face change and his eyes get hooded with anger. "I was given strict orders to get Vera out of the house tonight, I gotta follow them man, or it's my ass on the line."
Reluctantly Dominic moved out of the way, letting me into the foyer. I looked up at him with a smirk before gently pushing Blaine towards the door.
"If anything happens you call me. Okay?" He said angrily but protectively too.
"Yes...Daddy," I whispered in his ear before stepping back towards the half-open door, Blaine was already outside. "Promise," I said before leaving.
I didn't want to stay for Dominic's reaction to the name so I got in the car as fast as possible.
"He really is a hardass isn't he." Blaine laughed as he pulled out of the driveway.
Blaine was nineteen when Dominic came around, so he was already in college and moved out by then so he didn't get to experience parenting Dominic.
"Yeah, he's like that sometimes," I mumbled, relaxing into the passenger seat.
———
It took a little less than an hour to get to the house party. We did stop for a light gas station dinner, water, granola bars, and some chocolate.
When we stepped out of the car I could already feel eyes on me, oddly I didn't mind it.
"Hey! This is my sister! Look away, boys!" Blaine yelled sassily as we walked by. Some apologized other just pretended they weren't looking.
When we got inside it was worse, or better, I wasn't sure yet. We walked towards the back where some of Blaine's familiar friends were waiting.
"Look who the cat dragged in!" Blaine's friend Mac yelled before pulling me into a side hug. "Vera Adams is in the HOUSE!" I rolled my eyes before pulling away and punching his arm gently.
"Shut up Mac, I'm here to play some beer pong." I laughed out, taking the beer from his hand and taking a sip.
"Oh, so you had to bring in the professional." Blaine's on and off girlfriend slash friend with benefits joked before pulling me down to sit beside her.
"Hey, Evie," I said with a smile. I downed the rest of my drink before tossing the empty cup back to Mac.
"Refill?"
"Yes"
"No"
I shot Blaine a dangerous look before he shrugged, letting Mac get me my drink.
"Who's this?" I looked up to see a tall boy with shaggy curly brown hair. Light scruff covered his jaw but he looked relatively young. Younger than Blaine.
"Oh, hey Cody. This is my sister, Vera." Blaine said, wrapping his arm around the boy, pulling him closer to whisper something in his ear.
"Fuck off Adams," Cody grunted before shaking off my brother's arm. He sat down on one of the recliners, sending me a friendly smile.
Mac came back with a few drinks, and a bottle of something for refills. We idly chatted about the competition and school. Most of them knew I was a junior but Cody seemed surprised.
"So you just brought your baby sister to a frat party?" Cody laughed out, looking over at Blaine and me with amusement.
"Yeah, she's sixteen. It's not like she hasn't been to a party before." Blaine answered simply.
"And I'm not a baby. I could out drink and out smoke a lot of the people here." I shot toward Cody.
"Woah, Woah, Woah. Calm down, everybody. No need to get your boxers in a bunch. It's time for shots anyways." Mac intervened.
He sat down a row of red solo cup shot glasses in front of all of us, pouring in clear liquid. He did a countdown and then we all at once downed our shots. I forced myself to look unfazed while some of the others made faces and coughed. I could feel Cody watching me, even after two more rounds of shots his eyes stayed glued to me.
———
Even drunk I was dominating the beer pong game. It was only Blaine's friends that took the game so seriously. At the beginning of each year they would choose their teammates, Blaine kept me as a sub for the most important matches. But for the most part, it was all fun.
"Come on Vera...you got this." Blaine cheered on from the side of the table as I aimed the ping pong ball. I took the shot, the ball landed perfectly into Cody's last cup.
"Drink Cody," I said with a devilish smirk. He rolled his eyes and downed the drink.
They knew I hated beer so instead, we did mixed drinks in the cups, which made the longer matches a lot harder to win.
"You already won, I'm done." Cody sighed, motioning to our three standing cups.
"Nope, finish the game, Cody. Who knows you could miraculously jump the ball into all three cups." Blaine laughed out. "Here I'll make it easier for you." Blaine picked up one of the cups and downed it.
"Thanks for the help," Cody said sarcastically before lazily tossing the ball. It bounced on the table and landed into one of the cups. "Drink Vera." He mocked before walking around the table closer to us.
I pinched my nose and swallowed the butter liquid. The cranberry juice did little to help the burn.
"Looks like Blaine's team won..." Mac sighed after we all sat down again.
"Yup...thanks to V," Blaine said with a smile, patting my shoulder.
They all went back to talking. Cody lit a joint and it began to be passed around. I started to really feel the alcohol.
"I wanna dance." I groaned, standing up and looking across the sitting people. I looked over at Cody, puffing away on the joint. "I'll heal the wounds of losing, come dance with me," I whined, grabbing the joint from Cody's mouth and pulling him towards the crowd of dancing people.
"No..." Cody grunted, trying to pull away. I took a puff of the joint and tightened my grip on his hand so he wouldn't slip away.
"Please...Cody?" I gave him puppy dog eyes and I could feel his resistance lessen.
"Fine." He, the joint, and I walked into the crowd of people.
Cody's hands rested on my hips as I danced against him. This is how I'm going to catch up to Dominic...we shared the joint, passing it back and forth.
Cody gently pulled my head back, lowering his so he could blow a cloud of smoke into my mouth. After I had inhaled it all his lips met mine, biting my lip and running his tongue across it. I turned so we were facing each other, deepening the kiss and rolling my body against his.
"So much for baby sister..." I breathed out after pulling away. I took another hit from the almost finished joint, passing the smoke to him through another kiss.
"Wanna take this upstairs, baby?" He groaned against my lips. I nodded, letting him take my hand and pull me towards the stairs.
———
I was sitting on top of Cody kissing him when Blaine burst in with his eyes covered.
"Vera, get dressed. Cody...you're a cunt." He yelled, his one hand still over his eyes.
"Not naked Blaine," I replied. I kissed Cody again before moving off of him. Blaine uncovered his eyes, looking angry but more amused.
"It's past your bedtime sis...time to go home." He joked before pulling me out of the room, flipping off Cody on the way.
"What time is it?" I asked, my handbag not being with me.
"Almost two." He answered.
"In the morning?!" I froze and looked out the window. It was definitely dark out, but then it was when we came inside.
"No dumbass, two in the afternoon." He shook his head laughing. "Yes, V, in the morning."
Blaine said bye to his friend, some of them giving me a hug before we left.
"Vera!" A familiar voice yelled from behind me on the porch. I turned seeing Cody run out to us. "Your bag." He held out my black bag, smiling.
"What a gentleman." I joked. Letting him pull me in for another kiss.
"I know, right." He chuckled, smoothing back his hair.
"Have fun with that," I whispered, my finger dragging up the crotch seam of his jeans.
I followed Blaine to the car, not letting myself look back at Cody. Because if I looked back then it would have been more than just kissing.
"Wait!" I said after getting settled into the car. "We both drank. You're not driving."
"Vera...the last drink I had was when we were playing beer pong. That was hours ago. Trust me...after what I just walked into I'm sober." I thought for a moment, realized I was still drunk, then shrugged.
———
The drive home was quiet. We listened to music, stopped for McDonald's, joked about how mad Kara and Dominic are gonna be.
Blaine forced me to eat and drink to try and sober me up but I had been drinking since we walked out of there. I vaguely remember stealing people's shots while Blaine said goodbye to his friends.
"What's in your hair?" Blaine asked after parking the car by the house. I gave him a confused look before feeling around in my hair. I pulled a joint from behind my hair, holding it in my hands.
"Cody?"
"Definitely Cody. That's his way of saying he wants to see you again. Which isn't happening." I rolled my eyes before grabbing my bag and getting out.
"You coming?" I asked, seeing that Blaine was still in the car.
"Nope. I have to be in class tomorrow, and I don't want to be there for whatever is going to go down in there." He admitted with an apologetic smile
"Asshat." I shot before closing the car door and heading towards the door. I paused, looking up at my bathroom window. There was no way in hell I was going to be able to climb up there. Stairs it is...
The lights were off when I opened the door. After quietly closing it I took off my boots hoping to not make any noise.
"Taking off your shoes doesn't help when I can smell the alcohol on you from here." The lights flicked on and I turned to see Dominic sitting on the stairs.
"Fuck..." I sighed under my breath. "Where's Kara?" I ask trying to stray the conversation away from the fact that I'm drunk at three in the morning when I have school in five hours.
"She's asleep, thanks to me. So not only did you lie to me, but you also made me have to lie to your sister." He seemed pretty pissed off, clenched fists and jaw, hooded eyes.
"It's not like you're not already doing that, Dominic." I shot back, walking into the kitchen.
"Oh, so that's how it is. To think we actually made progress today." He scoffed, following me.
"Progress?! Is that what you call fingering me?" I shot back, shaking my head.
"Keep your fucking voice down!" He said in a low calm tone.
"Okay...then let me get a drink and go to bed." I hissed, yanking open the fridge door.
"It seems like you've already had enough to drink." He argued.
"Dominic! I am not doing this right now. You're really killing the buzz." I laughed at myself before grabbing a Gatorade. I closed the fridge and turned to face him.
"What the fuck is that, I know those aren't from me?" He asked rudely, reaching out to pull back the collar of my yellow shirt. I moved my hand to feel my neck, the pressure creating a dull ache. Cody left marks...
"Nothing." I yelped before pulling away and fixing my collar.
"Well then...I guess the whole 'roll with things until they go bad' thing is coming to play. Things went bad, Vera." He scoffed and shook his head, turning to the stairs.
"You're not pinning this on me," I shouted before covering my mouth. It got his attention though, making him turn back to me. "For fucks sake, monogamy was never in question, Dominic. Your fucking my sister, who cares if I let someone kiss me."
"Yeah Vera, because that definitely looks like just kissing. And since this whole thing started, I haven't touched your sister." He argued back as if that was going to fix everything.
"So birthday sex was no go? Remember that our bedrooms are across the hall from each other, asshole." I rolled my eyes and pushed past him.
"So I was supposed to know this would happen after I saw your tits?! That was before our discussion this morning and our little dirty secret sharing yesterday." He shot back.
"Well...clearly this is over so how about we just go to bed. Go finger Kara and have deep conversations with her, because that's definitely never happening again with us. I'm sure a thirty-four-year-old has more important things to do." I basically ran upstairs, not letting him see the redness and teariness in my eyes.
Sleep was welcomed but the thoughts in my head that night were not...
