A/n: Major Kailor up ahead! Don't worry, it's still PG, but I nearly exploded when writing it. I think I have a shipping problem. Is there like a program for people who have shipping addictions? No? Welp, oh well! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Kai's eyes fluttered open. He stared up at the dull ceiling of his apartment. He let out a groan while pain shot through his back. He tried to sit up, but he felt a weight on his chest. He glanced down to be overwhelmed by red hair. His girlfriend was past out on top of him with chunks of popcorn scattered all over her head. Kai's face grew as red as his t-shirt. He looked around to find themselves lying down on the couch in the living room. A fuzzy blanket covered the two of them, and he noticed Netflix was still up on the TV. A giant bowel of unfinished popcorn also layed tipped over on the floor, only a few inches away from Skylor's grip. Kai sneaked his hand out from underneath the blanket and checked his watch.

9:34 a.m.

"Crud..." Kai mumbled. He looked back down at the sleeping princess.

"Sky, wake up. I gotta go to clas--" Kai was cut off by a lazy finger smushing against his lips.

"Sssshh... five more minutes," Skylor grumbled. Her voice sounded groggy and distant like she was off in wonderland. She then pulled the fuzzy blanket further up to her face, smiling happily at the warmth. Kai's cheeks burned with utter agony at his dilemma. His gaze darted between his watch and his adorable girlfriend and muffled a scream. He then turned towards the ceiling again.

"Why do you put me in situations like this!?" he cried out quietly before sighing in defeat. Kai had made up his mind. He placed his arm over Skylor's back and closed his eyes.

"Five more minutes..." he whispered.

...

"Guys... guys... Hey!" Skylor's eyes snapped open. She lifted her head up to see Jay towering over her.

"Do you mind waking up today? Some of us actually went to class this morning and would like to watch some TV," Jay admitted. The amber master cocked an eyebrow, clearly at a lost with what Jay was talking about. She then caught a glimpse of something red underneath her. She turned to see her boyfriend's unconscious face only a few inches away from her. Skylor's pupils shrunk, finally realizing the situation.

"Uh, yeah..." Skylor replied. While resting on her arms now, the red head started shaking Kai's shoulder. "Kai... Kai, wake up! We missed clas--"

"Five more minutes," Kai mumbled, turning over to hug his pillow. Skylor groaned in frustration before jumping off the couch. She pulled her boyfriend's arm, yanking him to sit up straight. She then lightly smacked his cheeks until his eyes shot open.
"Wake up!" Skylor exclaimed. Kai looked around the room, noticing Jay next to them.

"Wha--"

"We slept in! Why didn't you set an alarm?" Skylor whined, gripping her hair until she felt bits of popcorn still in it.

"I-I forgot! And I tried to wake you up earlier, but you shushed me to be quiet!" Kai snapped with his frizzeled hair and wrinkled shirt. Jay started backing away towards his room as the couple continued their squabble. Skylor groaned. She pulled at her cheeks before plopping back down on the couch beside Kai.

"Ugh! My professor had a huge lecture for us today..." she mumbled, pulling her legs up to her chest.

"Is there someone who you can borrow notes from?" Kai asked. He leaned over to her and started picking the rest of the popcorn out of her fiery hair.

"Heidi probably took some..." Skylor replied weakly, wrapping her arms around her legs. She then glanced over at Kai.

"What about you?" The fire master shrugged.
