As Mr. Julien and Cole bustled around the kitchen, Nya couldn't help but chuckle at all the flour covering the earth master. He glanced her way with a weak smile.
"Never thought I'd see you in a kitchen again. How long have you been working in here?" she asked, noticing how the powdery ingredient made him resemble a ghost. Cole coughed out a reply, dust escaping his lips.
"3 minutes," he said. His voice rough and sounded parched. Mr. Julien sighed at the white mess that stuck to his shirt and the floor. He looked over at Nya. His eyes were begging for her to step in. "Nya, could you get a mop for us to clean this up?" She nodded, on her way to the closet, but the old inventor wasn't finished. "And could you please tell Jay that we're all having breakfast soon?" After giving a smile of approval, Nya made her way down the hall. She made a pit stop at the closet and took out a mop. She then strolled further down, the dingy cleaning supply dragging behind her. She halted infront of a door that carried the label "Jay's Sanctum" in bold letters. A smirk grew on the water master before sending a knock on the oak.
"Jay?"
No answer...
Nya turned the doorknob and was greeted by the lightning master, who was fast asleep. His body was sprawled ontop of his bed covers with a journal left wide open beside him. Jay's mouth fell wide open, letting out a few tiny snores. Nya strolled over to him, preparing to shake him awake.
"Jay, wa--"
She stopped.
Her eyes noticed some writing on the journal. Her conscience knew that it was best to ignore it, since the book was most likely supposed be private. However, she couldn't help but take a closer look once she spotted her name. Her hand reached over the sleeping young man. Her movements were slow with the intention of not wanting to wake him. She set down the mop and started to read the page. Her mind was screaming at her to stop, but her curiosity got the better of her. As she read, Jay's voice appeared in her thoughts.
Sooooo... I found out more about that strange lab I caught Nya in. I know she promised me to keep it a secret, but HOWCANINOTTALKABOUTHOWCRAZYTHATIS!?!?!?!?!
Nya snickered at the sound of Jay's screaming tone on the paper. She then turned the page.
Lloyd wants me to spend time with my thoughts... but all I end up doing is drifting off about how Cole keeps complaining about my laundry being left everywhere, so I shoved my dirty socks under his pillow when he's not looking. Then I sometimes think about how Zane is insanely smart. I mean, I know he's a robot, but dang! This guy can solve mathematical equations in under a minute. Makes for a really great homework helper.
Then I start to drift off about how Kai chases me around alot. I mean, I know we were just messing around those times, but a part of me worries that he doesn't like me since I tend to get under people's skin... Maybe shoving my socks under Cole's pillows wasn't really a good idea.
Eh, I guess that explains why I didn't have many friends growing up...
I don't mean to annoy people. I guess what I think is funny may not always be funny to others. My mom says that I struggle with knowing others' boundaries. Make sense... I just hope that I didn't ruin any possible friendship with the guys.
Oh boohoo! Such a sad story, Jay. Here you are feeling sorry about yourself when you're supposed to be out there waiting for Zane to wake up, somebody who ACTUALLY had a crummy night.
...
Does Nya really trust me with that huge secret? I mean, I'm not gonna tell anyone, of course. I just don't want to mess it up. I mess up on a lot of things. But Nya's counting on me. I can't--
