"Papa, I go to school today?" Landyn, my 5-year-old son asks during breakfast this morning, and today is Saturday.

We're sitting at the island on chairs with backs next to each other. We live in a two-bedroom apartment, on the third floor. We have lived here for three years now, and before living here, we lived with my dad Owen, at his home, three blocks from here.

Let me take a few minutes to introduce you to everyone in my life. My name is Londyn Michael Daniels, I'm 23-years-old, and bisexual. I'm 5'10", slim muscular build with dark brown and slightly curly hair, with blue eyes, pale skin, and a deep dimple in my right cheek with I smile.

Landyn Michael is 5-years-old, and the light of my life - he's my entire world, and has been since the day he was born. His mother, Marcy LeRoy, gave birth to him, and then she signed off her rights to me, leaving me his soul parent, with full legal, soul custody, as she didn't want to be a mother yet. She refused to hold him, or even look at our son. I was given a seperate room by the hospital to stay with him until he was discharged the next day. On his birth certificate, Marcy is listed as 'Surrogate' in place of 'Mother'.

My dad is Owen James Daniels, and he's a 48-year-old, actor in a daytime drama show. When dad isn't on set working, he spends as much time with Landyn and myself. My mother left dad four years ago for another man - her boss. I have tried encouraging dad to start dating again, but he says he's not ready, and I'm sure he's worried about being hurt again.

I have a best friend named Luke Martian, who is also 23-years-old, and we've been best friends since we were 5-years-old. He is also Landyn's godfather, and has been my rock our entire lives. He and I work at the doctor's office together - he's a nurse and I'm a receptionist.

So, now back to today -

"No, baby, you don't have school today since it's Saturday," I gently tell him knowing he's going to be uspet.

My absolutly adorable, blond hair, and blue eyed son instantly pouts me; "Can we see granpa then?"

Pouting at my baby as I reply; "Sorry, baby boy, granpa is working on set today. He won't be home for another couple of days, so after daycare Monday, we can see him."

"Fine," he grumps, biting into his piece of waffle on his fork before angerly chewing it.

"How about we see if uncle Luke is free today?" I suggest, already knowing Luke is free, and we already have plans with him in a couple of hours.

"Yes, uncle Luke!" Landany cheers after swallowing his food, and instantly brightening.

Grinning at him, I say; "Okay, after breakfast, I'll text him."

Landyn hums excitidly as the topic turns to his three friends from school - Lizzy Jackson, Kyle Thompson, and Asher Morgan. The four of them have been friends since preschoool two years ago.

"Go play in the living room while I clean up, and then I'll text uncle Luke when I'm done, okay?" I tell him when we have finished eating.

"Okay, papa!" he happily chirps while bouncing himself into the living room.

Smiling fondly at his retreating form, I start clearing away the dirty dishes, load these into the dishwasher, and turn that on to run once I place the detergent in the compartment. Wiping down the island, and counter before I'm done, and walk into the living room to join Landyn. Sitting down on the carpet in front of the coach to color with Landyn at the coffee table as I text Luke.

"Hey man, we're still on for today, right? Landyn would love to see you," I text my best friend with a small smile.

Placing the phone on top of the coffee table, Landyn asks; "Papa, where is my mummy? Lizzy, Kyle, and Asher have mummy's and daddy's."

I knew this question would be asked one day, and honestly I'm surprised it took him this long to ask me it. I have prepared myself as much as I could for this question over the last couple of years.

Inhaling deeply as I reply; "You don't have a mummy. You were carried in a lady's belly for me. Her name is Marcy LeRoy, and once you came from her tummy, you came home with me, and that's it."

"Why?" he questions, looking up at me with a frown.

"Because without her help, I wouldn't have you, my sweet baby boy," I murmur with a smile as I brush his hear from his forehead to the right.

"I love you, papa," he mumbles into my neck after he launched himself into my body.

Wrapping my arms around his waist, I kiss the top of his head while murmuring; "I love you, too, baby boy. Very much."

Landyn then pulls away when my phone dings with a new text message from Luke; Hey man! Of course we're still on for today! We're meeting at the cafe at noon, and then going to the bounce place."

"Great! We will be there for sure!" I send back with a smile gracing my lips.

Placing the phone back down, I smile at Landyn, who is looking at me hopefully; "Uncle Luke is excited to hangout with us! We're gonna have lunch, and then we're going to the bouncy place."

"Yeah! Lunch at Miss Jay's?" he questions as he bounces on his knees, which he's been sitting on while coloring.

Grinning back at him, I nod; "Yup, lunch at Miss Jay's."

Miss Jay is a lovely woman who has owned, and worked at the Starside Cafe in town for the last fifteen years. She's 60-years-old, 5'5" with long, straight blond hair, and bright blue eyes. She never married, but treats everyone like family.

"When we going?" he questions as he continues to color with his tongue poking from his lips.

"In a couple of hours, baby," I reply as I start coloring again, too.

"Okay," he shrugs with a smile.
