2 weeks later -

"Londyn, how are you, love?" Mrs. Leone sweetly asks from the other side of my counter at work.

"Hi, Mrs. Leone," I smile as I check her in on my computer. "I'm good, thanks. This appointment is to check on your Insision, and to take the stitches out, okay?"

She nods while her son stands behind her, and off to the right slightly; "Yup. How is your dad? How is Landyn?"

Grinning at her while I send Luke a message off the computer that Mrs. Leone is here; "They're both great. Dad's on location for the next week, and Landy is loving the first grade."

"That's great, Londyn," she replies with a smile as Mr. Leone looks between the two of us with a confused expression, but he remains silent.

"Luke will call you back in a few minutes, love," I say with a soft smile, and she nods as she and her son walk to the waiting area.

A couple of minutes later, Luke calls Mrs. Leone back, leaving her son to sit in the waiting area with other people. Feeling like I am being looked at, I look around through my eyelashes from my paperwork to find Mr. Leone starring at me. Refocusing my attention on the computer, I wonder why he is starring at me. I shake off the thought when I hear the pitter patter of little feet towards my window.

"Papa!" Landyn softly hollers as I see his little fingers grasping the ledge before I see the top of his head, his forehead, and bright blue eyes blinking at me from over the edge.

"Come in here, baby boy!" I eagerly tell him before thanking Amy, Asher's mum, for dropping him off here.

His elementary school has half day's on Friday's once a month for teacher meetings, and whatnot. Landyn eagerly runs to the door, opens and closes it, before he runs over to me. Scooping him into my arms, I hug him tightly to my chest as he buries his face into my neck.

"How was school, my love bug?" I ask him softly as I nuzzle my cheek into his soft hair.

"Fun! My friends are coming tonight?" he asks pulling back to look at me hopefully.

Nodding with a grin, I say cheerfully; "Yup! Once I'm done here, we're going home, and their mummy's are dropping them off."

"Yeah!" he quickly and happily says with a cheeky smile. "Who is that?"

He whispers the question to me nervously as he looks over my shoulders. Turning my head slightly, I find Mr. Leone starring at us outright, and I'm not interly sure why.

Focusing on Landyn again with a reassuring smile; "That's Mr. Leone, his mummy is Mrs. Leone. He's okay, I promise, baby."

Kissing him on the top of his head, I place him on his feet saying; "Go play for a little while, and then we will go home, okay?"

"Okay!" he happily agrees as I place his 'Superman' backpack on the floor next to my feet as Landyn sits off to the side to play with a few toys.

A throat loudly clears across from me, so I focus my attention to the window with a smile. My smile falters slightly when I see Mr. Leone standing there.

"Can I help you, sir?" I softly ask with a tiny smile.

"I don't need any help," he replies with a smile. "I just wanted to tell you that your brother is adorable."

Frowing at him as I'm sure everyone in the waiting area heard Landyn call me 'papa', and not by my name; "Thanks. He isn't my brother though, he's my son."

The man's eyebrows shoot upright toward his hairline in surprise; "Oh! My apologizes then, as I didn't mean to offend.

"Thanks again," I reply a little nervously as I glance at Landyn, who is playing with his action figures I brought with me this morning in my backpack.

"I was wondering if you would like to have dinner with mum and I tomorrow night? You're adorable son, too," he asks with his deep, accented voice.

Bititng my lip in nerves as I notice Carrie smiling brightly at me out of the corner of my eye as I ask; "When and where?"

Mr. Leone smiles brightly at me; "Starside Cafe at 6 p.m."

"See Miss Jay?" Landyn eagerly asks running over to my side with his 'Superman' action figure clutched in his left hand, as he looks up at Mr. Leone hopefully.

"Who is Miss Jay?" Mr. Leone asks confused.

"Miss Jay is the lady who owns Starside Cafe," I answer his question before looking down at Landyn. "Would you like to have dinner at the cafe with Mr. Leone, and his mummy?"

"Yes! Can we please, papa?" Landyn begs with a pout as he stares at me with wide blue eyes.

"Sure, baby," I agree softly, and then I tell Mr. Leone we will meet them at the cafe at 6 p.m.

"Perfect," Mr. Leone grins at us before Landyn waves, and then wanders back off to his toys. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow evening, Londyn."

"Me too, sir," I reply with a soft smile at him as a light pink blush coats my cheeks.

Mr. Leone walks back over to the waiting area, and sits back down in the seat he had vacated. Leaning back in my seat as I feel my body sag slightly in relief. Focusing back on my work while keeping an eye on Landyn. I have been given permission by HR to have Landyn here on his half days of school. I refuse to look at Carrie because I know she would do something to embarress me right now as I know she heard the exchange between myself and Mr. Leone.

An hour later, Landyn and I are leaving the doctor's office to head home to settle before his three friends arrive. I am ready to enjoy my night by listening to laughter of four children, and see them, especially Landyn, all happy, excited, and carefree. Now, I am a little baffled as to why Mr. Leone would invite Landyn and I to dinner tomorrow with him and his mum.

I guess I will figure that out tomorrow night, so for now, I am going to enjoy the night filled with four silly 5-year-olds.
