It was around Dongho bridge when the subway finally stopped.
"Oh no..."
A few of us stood up to look at the scene taking place outside. The Seoul from our childhoods no longer existed, buildings in which we could see their interiors with the exteriors on the grounds, tumbling as monsters reminiscent of giant snakes ate at the wreckage of fighter jets that had collapsed into the Han River.
"W-what happened?!" I grimaced as I heard the exclamations of both surprise and disbelief. I glanced over at Dokja who had been watching the green snake-like monsters. I knew that he would recognize them as well.
They were called Ichthyosaurs. A monster that was most commonly known as a sea serpent. They were different from modern-day ichthyosaurs. Scaly, and snake-like. Sharp-thorn-like things protruding from their sides with a white underbelly and a green covering. Their eyes glowed and orangey-red, giving anyone who looked at them an ominous feeling, and they were taller than any building in Seoul.
In 'Ways of Survival', it could be classified as a Grade 7 monster.
One of the scaly monsters looked towards our directions, its eyes flashing as its jaw snapped and snarled at us.
"Uwaaaah! I-i-it's coming!"
People screamed in fright but I remained unbothered as I took a seat in one of the nearby seats. These guys were no threat to us.
Kurururung!
The monster circled the bottom of Dongho Bridge a few times before it vanished into an air bubble. 'What a sight.' I thought to myself silently as I leaned over to take a good look at the space it had once been in.
In this new world, scenarios took precedence over anything else. As long as we were protected by a scenario, we wouldn't have to deal with any monsters as long as they weren't part of the scenario.
I leaned back over, picking up the black weapon I had let go of during some point and pressing the button on the bottom to retract it to its original form.
I stared at the rectangular prism in my hand. I had paid 7 billion US dollars for this, and I don't regret it to this day. I quietly slipped it into my bookbag before slipping the bookbag back on.
[Compensation settlement is delayed due to an unexpected scenario check. Please wait patiently]
Hahh...was this happening now? The compensation settlement should've taken place right now but in its place was a floating error message.
In the original 'Ways of Survival', Kim Namwoon had killed most of the passengers on the train, in 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' Kim Dokja had killed Kim Namwoon and stopped him from killing anybody, but now I had taken Kim Namwoon as a 'Captured Target' and I also stood in place as his Constellation Support.
I wonder what would happen.
Would they be angry that I had stolen their spot as Constellation Support? Or would they be grateful that I hadn't killed him off?
I snorted quietly, gazing at the white-haired teen who was still on the floor but was now staring blankly at the outside world's current state. Probably the former.
If my thoughts were right, those who were angry at his Capture would appear. Here? Of course not. Those hot-headed bastards with a Superiority Complex could never find themselves willingly coming down here. No, they were up there. Up in the sky above, I smiled bitterly.
