It felt like the world had purposely stopped time just to keep us in a constant state of awareness.
My breathing became affected, the muscles along my shoulders and back became stiff. Even still, I would put in as much force as I could whenever Dokja made an uncomfortable expression to massage his sore muscles, at least the ones that I could reach.
"Tha-thanks, Ha-Neul," Dokja gasped, craning his neck.
I smiled, ignoring the pain in my arms and shoulders. "No problem. Tell me if you feel uncomfortable again."
"All right."

Oh shit, here we go again.
I breathed in and then breathed back out.
There were moments when I felt as if I wasn't alive. There was a ringing in my ears, a numbness in my throat crawling down to my chest and into my arms.
"Erk-" Dokja coughed out. I turned towards him, reaching out a shaky arm to grab a hold of his shoulder.
[The conditions of the exclusive skill 'Mother's Touch - Lv.1' have been met!]
My eyes widened in surprise as I felt a surge of warmth leave my palm and enter Dokja's body. Dokja, who had been glowing a bright red in certain parts of his body, breathed a sigh of relief as he looked at me.
"Thanks," He muttered. "I feel...amazing!"
I grinned at him, feeling a heavy fatigue lay on my brow. "No problem."
If only I could reach the duffle bag on my shoulder, then I would be able to heal myself. But for now, I was stuck in my useless condition. I could feel the temperature around us slowly start to drop, good. It meant that the ichthyosaur was dying.
I huffed, the glow around my neck dimming as I grew weaker and weaker. Dokja remained unaware of my weakening state, and I intended for it to stay that way.

Whenever I was hungry, I would force the tip of the thorn onto my tongue, urging Dokja to do the same.
The condensed fluid that flowed out contained the life force absorbed from the ichthyosaur and would help me gain a bit of strength, but as time went by I slowly felt more and more fatigued.
The reason we had absorbed the mucus in advance was to be able to consume this concentrate of life force.
[Your stamina has slightly increased due to absorbing the life force of the ichthyosaur]
Not that it made me feel any better. My vision was starting to get a bit hazy. It must've been the knockback from the fight against the demonic people as well as the hour I had exerted myself to teach Dokja some proper swordsmanship.
....This wasn't a dream.
'Wake up Ha-Neul.' I kept on repeating to myself. 'Stay awake Heaven. You've got Dokja to take care of. What about Gilyoung? Do you wanna abandon him? And what about Namwoon? You know how everyone will treat him if you're not there.'
